(nl) wrote: Quite glad I watched the movie before it was off screens. It keeps the humour running along with the movie's message and neither dilutes the other. The surprise was perhaps Arya Babbar as a scheming dufus. Overall, not disappointing at all.

Highly lyrical, romantic and poetic, glacially paced, beautifully shot, the film is as much a love story as it is a an action film. I even have trouble using the A-word here; the film has more in common with Ashes of Time and Valhalla Rising than it does anything else. I was captivated from its opening moments and grew more deeply enthralled as it progressed. I really love this movie.

Subsequently, while waiting on the completion of the inquiry on this matter, he is assigned to complete an inquiry on a Woman Captain and prospective Candidate for the Medal of Honor. After several accounts of the Captain??s story, he finds out that the Captain was killed by friendly fire and ultimately granted the Medal of Honor. Overall, the movie is a pretty nice and intriguing Army Movie, with nice pictures of Bombings, Helicopters, a Good Looking Army Cast, and Battle Scenes.
(kr) wrote: The "other" 80's vampire flick, the one sandwhiched between fright night and the lost boys, and certainly the most forgotton one, a big hit of the video age, it got kinda lost in the transition to the dvd era, as did many films, a shame because having finaly watched it, it's a cracking little horror comedy, a mix of from dusk till dawn and after hours, it concerns two fraternity pledges who are tasked with getting a stripper for the big party if they are to join, joined by the guy who played "long duck dong" in sixteen candles, and in a borrowed car they head to the city, ending up in a dark and very seedy part of town, were it seems there is no one else walking the streets at night, having found a strip club called "the after dark club" they venture in, only to find that they've wandered into a club full of stripper vampires, led by a very memorable and suprisingly seductive grace jones, who is the standout element of the film, creepy, mute and sporting some startling whited out make up, red hair and outlandish costumes, she stands out in the mind long after. True, this isnt a great film, and everything it dose fright night and subsequent films such as lost boys, near dark and the monster squad did much better, but it is a very stlylish, unique and underappreciated little cracker with a striking neon coated look to it that couldnt be more 80's, and it deserves to be dug out and watched, Recomended for halloween.
