Shiny M (es) wrote: the actors have woeful acting skills, cgi effects very like console games of the mid 00's, plot is all over the place.

Saoirse M (br) wrote: Chemistry was good but it was a little slow. Also I felt like some of the intimate stories they told were so out of the blue they felt like lies and made me laugh.

Kyle M (ca) wrote: A cult comedy, triggered by Russell's performance with a similar eye-patch that he wore before, with some funny moments that fulfills the genre as well being unfunny, silly and dull like it seems the ship sails and Short is hanging on while Russell's sailing and not knowing he'd forgotten the others. Brian S (nl) wrote: A more bloody remake of the 1931 original, Hammer Productions bring us a high quality chiller with legends Christopher Lee as Dracula and Peter Cushing as Van Helsing. One good thing that this remake has that the original didn't have is music through out the whole film and blood. Although some scenes are long, it's still a classic to be seen. Recommended !!

Ken S (ru) wrote: Interesting from a cinematic historical perspective, as it is Stanley Kubrick's first short film. It follows the life of a boxer in his routine before a big fight. It isn't all that entertaining, but it's subject matter (it is a short documentary) is somewhat interesting, even if boxing hasn't really stayed as popular as it once was. Kubrick's celebrated career begins...with a little bit of a whimper.

Jonathan I (it) wrote: This movie is the tits! Incredible, on-your-toes characterization. Great acting. Conflict laden. Modernly, we'd see this as typical heavy-material'd, character-driven Oscar bait, making this form of film ahead of its time.

Judy N (jp) wrote: This film tries very hard to portray a story sympathetic to Confederate soldiers while doing its very best to condemn what they were fighting for. And it fails miserably. The film makers go to great pains to say slavery is wrong and have the characters say and do things that no southerner would ever do. (Slavery is bad, we must intervene to save the slave baker who's about to be hanged for stealing the bread that we stole). And in the one place where a Confederate flag would be appropriate--in the portrayal of a Civil War battle--it's nowhere to be seen. It's one thing to be blatantly racist, but this movie sanitizes the VMI cadets beyond recognition.
