Lee N (de) wrote: A film about meteors crashing into San Francisco, the acting was above average for this kind of movie. Average effects, but quite fast paced, when the rocks struck. But for me, not enough big set piece moments, stayed at the same pace, no get-up-and-go involved.
Mario H (ag) wrote: This movie has an amazing cast. Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, J.K. Simmons, Ray Liotta, Kelsey Grammer, and Julie Bowen. But the story is kind of weak. Great movie to watch at home but not so great to see in theaters. But I actually enjoyed this movie. However, I really think that Tim Allen's character should of been younger, like late 20's to mid 30's. Not late 40's to early 50's. But other then that it was a nice movie.

Rupesh S (us) wrote: Wow. Daniel Day-Lewis kills it in this film. Very original screenplay that takes you back to the oil drilling days and early 1900's. Very cool period to witness. Well shot and directed with an amazing score. Ran a bit long but great story nonetheless.

Michael H (it) wrote: Englund, working from a script by Rhet Topham and Brian Helgeland (!), has infused976-Evilwith an aggressively campy feel that immediately sets the viewer on edge, with the movie's eye-rollingly off-kilter vibe compounded by its proliferation of one-dimensional characters and surprisingly convoluted narrative. Equally problematic is Englund's decision to employ as incongruously slow and muddled a pace as one could possibly envision, as the excessively deliberate atmosphere effectively holds the viewer at arm's length and ensures that one can't help but wish that Englund would just get on with it already. The film's rampant quirkiness, which is never more evident than in Sandy Dennis' obnoxiously over-the-top turn as Hoax's religious aunt, proves instrumental in ultimately cementing976-Evil's place as a hopelessly obnoxious piece of work, with the overblown third act paving the way for an anticlimactic finish that is, admittedly, right in line with everything leading up to it.

Jeff H (ru) wrote: I have to say, sad movies have their place. The trick, however, is to offer a way out. A solution. This offered neither, it was just an extremely depressing movie. Too bad too, since Adrian Brody's performance is strong.
