It starts off as an Indiana Jones with kung fu type movie, which is really cool. However, about halfway through the movie is bogged down by way too many subplots including a love interest for the protagonist, a love interest for his daughter, magical artifacts, two villains, and it loses focus. The martial arts sequences and camera work are solid, but the CGI is pretty bad and noticeable. If the second half of the film were a bit more tightened, it would have made for a much better movie.

I'm not sure why it's so disliked. It's way better than Cinema Paradicio, which I didn't think was all that great. Maybe I can identify better with someone who is an art collector, antique appraiser, and lover of fine dining, over the average person.

What makes this film work is the relationships between the characters. Yes, this has a part to do with fact that this story is based on a Shakespeare play, but this film does a good job translating it to high school. These high schoolers seem real. Everything from mannerisms to the language they use. Sure some of it is cringeworthy, but I urge you to listen to some teenagers speak and try not to cringe yourself. Overall, this film is a good watch. It will leave you with a smile on your face!
