The performances from Peter Finch and Glenda Jackson are understated and magnetic, but they're really all that the film is worth watching for. More should have been done with the film's mature themes; instead, they're used simply to progress the plot.

Entertaining, great acting, some great chemistry between Bogart and Bacall. 46 year old Bogart would leave his wife of 7 years Mayo Methot (the two fought constantly and both drank heavily) for the 19 year old Lauren Bacall.Very worthy of 100% rating if not for so many similarities to Casablanca.
