(es) wrote: Gloriously hilarious, and everything is just as you'd expect from any other Marx bros film. Everything plays second to the gags (the story, characters, and well, logic) which isn't necessarily a bad thing, because the film is still god damn funny. The Marx bros always leave me in a critical quandary. I've heard things about their films that tell me there's more than meets the eye, that many films are trying to say something. I never got this, so it's difficult for me pinpoint exactly how it stands. The incoherence is forgivable, because the whimsy of the Marx bros is never failing and always entertaining. So, if you can just sit back, relax, and enjoy, you'll have a fantastic time.

(de) wrote: Bruce Willis was a bad ass in this. Slowed down a bit toward the end but not bad.
(es) wrote: Cronenberg hadn't quite hit his stride when he made Rabid, but there's still a fairly entertaining mash up of Vampirism and a style of zombie that could easily have served as an inspiration for 28 days later. The story is a bit threadbare, but the actors put in good performances, and the growing sense of full blown contamination is timeless. 3 1/2 stars
