Andrew M (us) wrote: I'm the only one to review this so far? Well granted...I would never of watched it if I hadn't won tickets. Dramas are not my usual forte, but as long as they are not overly depressing then I can handle them. This one was quite a nice movie, the movie was quite a lighthearted take on getting old, divorced, widowed and then back in the dating game. Nothing too astounding, but a nice movie. I need one of those aprons!!

Kay C (ag) wrote: Strange movie and not about cricket as much as the prejudice that England had in the 60's towards black people and jews. Of course, it take sa child to prove the point to the adults.

Andrew P (mx) wrote: Definitely not one of Brooks' decent, much less good movies. It's too self important and economically aware to be enjoyable. This really can't even be described as a comedy as there are far too many depressing moments in the film. The drama is far too heavy handed. Not a good movie.

Doug M (us) wrote: This is the film where we learn the awful truth about Iowa. A biker gang called the Born Losers does battle with a gang of radical feminist baby snatchers. It's a good concept with fun characters, and it's pretty well written and acted. But they just don't seem to have the whole comic timing thing down. It's way too slow-paced, and while it made me want to like it, by the end I'd given up trying. Two stars.

Adam T (mx) wrote: Director John Boorman's semi-autobiographical film set during the London Blitz is a charming work with great period detail. The excitement and fear of the time is captured well.

Steve W (jp) wrote: Exquisite camera work and a primal plot make The Housemaid work. A young and naive housemaid begins an affair with the master of the house. When certain characters find out and begin plotting, things get Shakespearean.Do-yeon Jeon is fantastic in the title role, a simply naive woman who is partly to blame for her actions. The movie takes a very big stance with the shades of grey, no one is completely at fault, due to the behaviour of others. When the introduction of the wife's mother comes into play, things get primal. They really show the callousness of the upper class, which goes for a great theme between class battles. The head housemaid also reflects this as well with her constant ranting and complaining.Although the movie gets ridiculous in the final climax, The Housemaid has enough good performances and layers for a very interesting drama.

Thrall T (mx) wrote: In 1971 a white Southern school in Virginia joins a black school for football season. Remember the Titans starring Denzel Washington, Will Patton, and Wood Horns brings to different races to join together that means a lot to both races.Coach Yoast is the white football leader.Meanwhile Coach Boon is the black football leader who takes over Yoat's job. Gerry Bertier, the team captain, who becomes friends with Julius, showing that having a friendship with people of a different race demonstrates that everyone is equal. Bertier decides to cut Ray, whose racism was hurting the team. The movie shows some strong reactions on how to get along with African Americans and the effect on how to get to know each other before judging. The movie lacked off on going back to the football games and what was happening besides football. I would rate this 4.5 out of 5. Mostly to see it with the family and enjoy some football.
