Ryan L (it) wrote: After Earth is the worst film this year has brought us. When I first saw the trailer I got all hyped up to see a father and son in the same movie, and it quickly crashed to the ground ave was not an entertaining as the directors had hoped. Not worth buying on blu ray.

Daniel C (nl) wrote: The overall premise is interesting and the camp is done almost perfectly, but the movie is a technical mess (and not within my personal realm of taste).

Coxxie M (br) wrote: i have rated this movie probably 5 times on flixster so apparently Lifetime has a bunches of versions to try to cash in on these womens sweet sweet money tears.

Zack B (kr) wrote: I was disappointed to learn that this is perhaps Suzuki's most beloved film, revered by Jim Jarmusch and Quentin Tarantino. The fact is, I'm just not into what I've seen of Suzuki's stuff so far. Tokyo Drifter was all right, and I was actually able to finish it and appreciate many elements of it, but the color scheme and the editing held me back. With this film, the editing was so frenzied that I hardly had any clue what was going on. And the characters didn't stand out in any way, other than Jo Shishido's character, who only stood out because Jo Shishido had artificially enlarged cheeks that made him look like a chipmunk. It was distracting and hard to take seriously for that reason. There were some cool shots here and there, but mostly, I thought it was just a mess compared to the superior Tokyo Drifter.

David C (fr) wrote: Nothing wrong with the acting, the directing, the story or anything else. But special? No. And special is what you expect of Loren, Mastroianni and DeSica. Too bad, but nevertheless a small let-down.

Justin L (fr) wrote: Important, controversial film that plays an integral part in the history of sex in cinema. This is certainly a milestone in terms of what could be shown on screen, although it seems incredibly tame by todays standards. It also features a stunning performance by Jeanne Moreau and one that probably made her career. It's gorgeously shot as well, but being a Louis Malle film, that's no surprise. The only down side here is that the story seems really cliche, however this was also 50 years ago so those 'cliches' must be forgiven. This is an expertly made film that is as important to American film history as much as it is to the French film industry it came out of.

Tara H (us) wrote: Overall great fun, if a bit patchy. Reminded me of Red Dust.

Jessica P (ru) wrote: some genuinely creepy shit goes on in this little film, though some of it is ultra "wtf".
