A Canterbury Trail
BBC producer/director David Thompson follows a group of admirers of the film A Canterbury Tale (1944) on their annual location walk in 2005. As this was the year of the centenary of the birth of director Michael Powell the location walk included visits to a lot of the places around Canterbury where Powell grew up. The documentary includes interviews with walk organizers Paul Tritton and Steve Crook as well as with various other people there. Some of the scenes from the film are re-created with people on the walk reading out the lines from scenes filmed at those locations 60+ years ago.

The actual plot seems a little wrong, older guy and quite young girl making a connection, but by the end of this film you forget the age difference and see only the chemistry between these two characters and actors. Ken Leung was amazing in the lead and played his role flawlessly, he drew me into this story. The screenplay is great, a beautiful blend of humour and drama make this a wonderful romantic dramedy that brought many a smile to my face. The story is honest and realistic (maybe bar the ending) and it wont be long before I watch this one again. Highly recommend this charming film.

Jesse and Celine have long discussions about their history, family, values, love, religion, what they've learned from their experiences and how they've shaped them as individuals. They each hold to different truths, but as the night goes on, they help the other see things a little differently. This was just a beautiful experience. 9/10.
