Gareth M (fr) wrote: Werner Hozarg remake was weird in a random bizarre way. This is dark and disturbing weird.Watching this I thought it was a direct influence on "killer joe". Nudity check. bad cop check. really really awkward scenes, that are almost unwatchable and completely unnecessary check. Also while watching this I thought, what happened to Harvey Keital Oscar nomination.? His performance is amazing, bringing the scene to the setting. Although there Is nothing to like in his character he is memorising from start to finish. Brilliant but very disturbing and too dark, too violent, too real. Fucked up.

Damon R (ca) wrote: This is why I enjoy watching war movies. This true story is brutal, bloody, gruesome, and extremely violent, which is exactly what the Vietnam war, or any war, was.

Hamish S (jp) wrote: A difficult issue tackled with finesse and poetry...conclusion is honest with viewers; people are capable of extraordinary cruelty to each other, let alone a helpless animal...which is shown as a vessel for their hate in this thought provoking film. If only ignorance hadn't blocked it's original theatrical release...Irony. People need to be confronted sometimes to enable positive change in their own lives. Finally, a poignant score by maestro Morricone only adds to the depth of this seldom known about masterpiece. 5 Stars.
