(fr) wrote: What the F*CK was that! The WWE royally screws up the Leprechaun series with the reboot Leprechaun: Origins. Going for a creature feature vibe, the Leprechaun is re-envisioned as a primordial animal that feeds off of human flesh. The plot involves a group of college students who are sent off the beaten path by a local miner to see some ancient Celtic ruins, but it turns out to be a trap intent on sacrificing them to a leprechaun. It's an incredibly generic storyline, and is full of all the usual horror movie cliches. Plus, the characters really aren't that interesting, and neither is the Leprechaun. Leprechaun: Origins is just senseless violence and gore without much suspense ('cause it's very predictable).

(mx) wrote: This is a very disgusting movie. I sat with nausea a lot of the time. This movie is scary and some scenes become entrenched in a long time. Understand me right. The film is not an epic horror, but I really like it. it is scary. I do not think many will like it and would only recommend it to you who like asylum films.

Stepfather 2 - Make Room For Daddy (Burr, 1989) - **1/2Where the original in the Stepfather trilogy was careful in its cinematography, this first sequel is aware of its cross-cutting. Terry O'Quinn delivers another fine performance as "The Stepfather" in search of a family that won't disappoint him. Starring alongside O'Quinn is a very young Jonathan Brandis (Ladybugs and TV's SeaQuest) who sadly took his own life in November of 2003. While this film is essentially the same as the original, it does offer a great ending sequence. It is a darkly comedic sequence where the bride, covered in blood, walks to the altar to the wedding march ("here comes the bride..."). Can't wait for Stepfather 3 - Father's Day...
(de) wrote: The dazzling visuals may have been a unique experience when this film came out, boasting highly advanced computerized effects for the 1980s, but nothing saves the script from being a ridiculous, tiresome mess with an uninteresting shred of story that is painful to sit through.

(ag) wrote: Even though the sequel turned everyone against this franchise, it doesn't make the original film any less good. Five stars all around.

(it) wrote: Painfully awful story about Krampus and Santa kidnapping and killing children for pretty flimsy reasons. But then Krampus starts going after adults (once again for no apparent reason), and it just ends. What a waste of time.
(fr) wrote: "Whitey: USA v. James J. Bulger" does its best to wrap this long saga up but, as in real life, there's still too many questions unanswered and too many government officials not behind bars. This documentary shatters the illusion that those paid to protect citizens from murderers are no worse than the criminals they apprehend.
