Buck manages to create a well mixed piece, which never gets boring or slow in storytelling, only one scene was a bit odd for me, where the two main characters go for a walk on a tiny river watching a fisherman doing his work and in the background old, classic french chanson music is playing, which totally does not fit the scene and the entire setting at all. Great acting throughout, also in the supporting roles and the ending gives hope in our sometimes tough and evil everyday lifes. Worth a watch, enjoy!

The story is lacking and the writing is horrible, but it's worth the ticket price to see the weird pig-thing dancing around in front of a TV. See it.

A man with killer cowboy boots from Argentina who has nvere lost a UFC fight, and now some sillyl bastard keeps tasering him and has poisoned his wife in order that he fights some other hard men who have also been held to ransom. Not to be deterred he makes love to his poisoned wife and kills everyone. One of the most stupid films I have ever seen, badly acted, scripted and not thought out but fun nevertheless as you revel in its awfulness.

I was going through my DiCaprio phase when I watched this, and I must say that although the performances are great - the story is just plain weird. I was very confused by the end of it, and I probably wouldn't watch it again.

On his brithday, his father is severely beaten in front of him by Judge, a sports writer who performs the beating in George's fathers own bar. The father shows no resistance to Judge's actions, but George wants revenge. The Big Night is a rather great, different type of coming of age story which uses the tropes and the Noir genre to effectively deconstruct masochism. Essentially we follow this head strong kid who goes out to avenge his father, and through a series of events learns that things aren't exactly how they appear. It's not 'The Servant' in terms of dynamic compositions, but it still has some great sequences in terms of how Losey's positions the camera, choreographs the scene, etc. The best example I think of is the scene where George's father is beaten. Losey doesn't show the beating at all, but instead opts for a single long take, focusing on the face of young, George witness his father being caned, only providing the sound and one's imagination as to what George is witnessing. I think the character George is just a fascinating endeavor in itself: The way he rehearses his toughness in the mirror, for example, or how he mistakenly insults the black singer at the night club by basically telling her that she was gorgeous, in-spite of being black. He's a character whose innocence and desire to be tough really shine through, making this sort of deconstruction of masculinity effective.

The actors were all pretty good, but nobody stood out to me, although it was difficult to judge because of the different language, so that really a minor point. The stunt work was incredible and very fun to look at. The plot is alright, though uneven at times, some story elements felt out of place but others were outrageously funny. I had a good time with King Fu Hustle, that is for sure though, it may be zany and confusing at times, but it provides enough fun and excitement to be a memorable film
