Nik M (mx) wrote: It's not as spectacular as it might lead on and it's partly because of that that Tai Chi Zero's video-game style isn't totally fulfilled. It has a good set up, but too quick a pace, a lack of action scenes, and not a lot of dialogue. Still, with whatever style it manages to pull off in the fight scenes, fans of the martial arts genre should be entertained.

Jeff E (gb) wrote: One of the best documentaries I've seen. Some may find that Dawkins' impatience with a lot of religious ideals takes away from the film, but I found myself just as incredulous. This is not a fence-sitting look at religious fundamentalism, it is an unapologetic and brutal critique of religious ideas and the thinking (or lack thereof) behind them. Five stars.

Well halfway into this mess I was asking if I could take my name off the sign up list. This thing is a bore and a mess. David Carradine is VErrrry good in it though. For the Lee completist only. All others AVOID.
Rafal K (ru) wrote: Sometimes the directors are able to create a great story out of a very plain plot. In this one, this battle was definitely lost by the director and she didn't manage to achieve this effect.. Therefore, the effect is a plain movie, neither interesting nor touching. Not worth it.
Scott S (br) wrote: As with many of Billy Wilder's classics, "Avanti" creates almost its own language in how the characters communicate with one another. The wit and dialogue is perfect. Humor about everything from corpses to black socks is wildly entertaining in a way no other writer/director could accomplish. Wilder used much of the same style he had perfected for 20-some years but adapted well to the 1970s, making yet another movie that was ahead of its time is is almost always the case with a Billy Wilder film. This certainly deserves to be classified as among his best films alongside "Sunset Boulevard," "Some Like It Hot," "Stalag 17," "Double Indemnity," "The Apartment," "A Foreign Affair," and "The Lost Weekend."
