Ernest A (de) wrote: Shot on video, it looks ugly. At the beginning, most acting seems distractingly mediocre but then the story develops into a trite but slightly engaging queer love story and you no longer worry about the quality.

MF J (ag) wrote: This is one of the weirdest film I have seen recently & knowing it's based on a true story just ads on to the awkwardness ! The cast is good though, the story unfolds nicely & Mena Suvari plays the deranged woman with evident talent. Stephen Rea is perfect as always....

Enrica C (au) wrote: Quite powerful at times, "House of Sand and Fog" is a classic and a must-see. It feel like there's "life" running through it, bouncing from one character to the other... It's a dramatic story that was turned into a pretty decent, but slow movie -- It is quite peculiar and there is more than just one unexpected twist that will lead to a powerful and meaningful finale. Great cast, Ben Kingsley did kind of an awesome job. So the answer is yes, it's worth the watch.

David S (fr) wrote: What a weak ending. The movie as a whole was decent throughout, a little childish here and there, but interesting enough to kind of get into it. What a bitch Anna/Emelie turns out to be, starting with the hamster scene. I just really wish they ended it better than what they gave us. The ending seems so rushed and moronic.
