Herbert C (us) wrote: Spike Lee, in the traditional way of his early films -even inclusive of Mookey- explores another NYC community as well as the discoveries and hiding centered between the relationships of an ATL grandson and unknown preacher grandfather over a summer. Another relevant, yet taboo subject is breached in the fashion of 'She Hate Me' and is a part of the envelope pushed by this work. The acting is decent to quite characteristically believeable; however, the film is drawn out, not for the faint of heart and especially more appreciated by those of us who are Spike Lee film lovers.

Even moreso with Ajay (who admittedly I don't love).Pales before the Tamil version, Ayutha Ezhuthu. Music is top-notch in both cases, however. A. R. Rahman was in splendid form.
