For starters they should have decided more carefully where to place and build one and within which county or country! The movie starts a little slow, introducing you to the main featured characters. The movie shifts back and forth to particular specific locations as the storm brews and the tornado's hit. The drama heats up as the movie progresses and voices get louder, the wind stronger and the damage and chaos more intense, I did feel that the damage and debris everywhere did add to the realism. For the reactor plant being so huge I was a little surprised to get the feeling it was so empty, minimal staff (just the key characters) worked the problems mainly from just one makeshft computer room. A lot of tongue in cheek moments, force OTT scenarios to raise the tension and a lot of extra looking busy. Overall a dramatic, race against time movie including tornado special effects, but a little off Jan De Bont's 'Twister' and comes in 2nd.

(ru) wrote: I think this movie is pure Eastwood: not trying for the spectacular or flashy, not aiming for any Oscars, but honest, well-crafted, original in theme, touching and memorable. It deserves more attention than it's gotten and is deeper than it's been given credit for. Clint Eastwood himself has said that if he had anything to say as a director it's in this film. It's a great addition to Eastwood's large and impressive body of work, and shows yet again that he is never afraid to take chances.
(nl) wrote: One of those must see movies of the silent era. LLoyd is the epitome of the weak, nerdy, bespectacled young man who has dreamed of being a college student since kindergarten. As an actor Lloyd was also a fearless stuntman doing in a day things which todays' actors would hesitate to do in a week - even then there would be stunt doubles. While this film has a rather simple, if long plot line; the pacing and camerawork keep the audience from getting too distracted.
