Lorie L (jp) wrote: This movie is excellent!!! It is a pro alternative health documentary but it gives those professions a voice that has often been silenced over the years. This movie demonstrates the need for ALL health professionals to work together for the betterment of American healthcare and patients. Alternative healthcare is not only cheaper but is also in many cases more effective. I suggest everyone see this movie.

Jamie C (ru) wrote: Gran Torino is a brilliant movie from start to finish, I can't believe I waited so long to watch it, It's completely different to what I expected, Two thirds of the film had a very light tone at times and can be humorous too, Clint Eastwood proves he can still be a bad ass and take no Shit from anyone despite his age, The final third of the film turned the tone more serious and was very gripping, The ending was very unexpected and shockingly brilliant, Very well acted by everyone, Hardly any action but it never needed it, It's an amazing film that most will love and feel moved by too.

Brem S (jp) wrote: Me and a movie buff friend of mine rented this one twice! It stars Edward Furlong (John Connor of T2) and he's at his best in this one. This movie is basically about a Virtual Reality murder game that comes to life! Question is; Is it really real??..........

The decide to form their own two-man Scooby-Doo style mystery-solving group as Holmes notices similarities between two recent deaths. More deaths occur, but Scotland Yard will not listen to Holmes' explanations for them. Soon the pair are battling a conspiracy involving a sleeper-cell of Egyptians who have infiltrated the school and practice an odd, hidden religion. Despite all of the good, this could have been much better. Based on the movie's post-credits ending, they were very much expecting a sequel to happen. Maybe this could have become a reality if not for several scenes being far too drawn out and many missed opportunities for more witty dialogue. Despite this, the cgi and the soundtrack were great. In fact, I'd rate the film's score up there in quality with Conan the Barbarian, Das Boot, RoboCop, The Good the Bad, and the Ugly, Terminator 2, etc. I'm a bit surprised I'd not seen this until now, though I cannot say I was really missing all that much.

Art S (mx) wrote: Based on a minor Faulkner, this is a minor Sirk (featuring three key leads from the much better Written on the Wind). Rock Hudson stars as a journalist who becomes fascinated by the lives of airshow veterans who seemingly adjust themselves to danger by turning their feelings off (or do they?). Melodrama of course (this _is_ Sirk) but just not far enough over-the-top for me.

Brian B (fr) wrote: Selma is a pretty entertaining drama about Martin Luther King, Jr. I think that David Oyelowo did a great job acting. He had a strong role and did a great job bringing the elements of courage and bravery to the screen with his powerful performance. It also had pretty good emotional power in it. This is not for everyone with its talk heavy dialogue but for those who like slower films then this is for them. It doesn't have the same power as "12 Years a Slave" does though. Still, it's good for a few viewings and it is pretty moving at some parts. I was pretty entertained by this. A couple of the boring or slower scenes lost me but there weren't too many of them and most of them were only in the first hour. It did a good job capturing the ugliness of the 1960's with the marches and some other sequences of violence. If you want to see a history lesson on screen then you'll likely enjoy the film.
