(ag) wrote: To be fair, Monkeybone had a very neat concept; it has the visual flare of Nightmare Before Christmas and that same director too. However, without a decent script or anything resembling comedy, you have next to nothing. The only thing that allows this to be considered a "film" is the fact that some idiot thought it would make for a good theatrical release.

(mx) wrote: Grosse Pointe Blank is a fantastic film. It is about Martin Blank who is a professional assassin. John Cusack and Minnie Driver give amazing performances. The screenplay is good but a little slow in places. George Armitage did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed watching this motion picture because of the action. Grosse Pointe Blank is a must see.
(br) wrote: I use to watch this movie a fair bit when I was younger and I thought it was really good so I was kind of disapointed when I saw it again wasnt as funny or entertaining as I remembered. The cast is great and the movie isnt that bad I just had some good memories of it and it didnt live up to it.

(ru) wrote: It happened to me as in "The woman in the window" (same actors, same director, similar story), but even less, because the usually master direction of Lang is not so clear in this movie when you talk about music, image... The plot is quite predictable, although the end has some interest. Again, Edward G. Robinson is, in my opinion, used under his great possibilities (it is not he does bad, not: it's he can do much more interesting roles than the shy, poor man -who is always nice, but not wonderful-). Just an average movie, but I expected much more from the director of M or Ministry of fear. Joan Bennett makes a good role as femme fatale, but doesn't overcome Barbara Stanwick, Rita Hayworth or Lana Turner from their throne.
