Josh G (es) wrote: The film shown was massively cut down by 20 minutes this means there is no classic introduction and end credits animation also many scenes are clearly edited because the characters keep making random jumps all over the world! This in my opinion is the biggest let down of the English dubbed Pokemon series!

Lei J (au) wrote: This movie is a piece of shit....don't watch it, it's gonna waste you one and a half hours...

Grant S (es) wrote: Very very bad.. Feels like a particularly bad episode of Xena or The Seeker. Plot is meaningless and makes no sense. CGI is pathetic. Acting is very unconvincing. Shannen Doherty's career is clearly over.

Dylan D (nl) wrote: Courageous is a spectacular film of family and faith. Its centerpiece revolves around the role of Christian fatherhood in the home, of the man's place as the spiritual leader of his household. It's a picture of discovery, of tragedy, of faith in something greater for the betterment of oneself, one's family, and one's community. The picture espouses positive, uplifting messages that will speak to all comers, Christians or non-Christians, those seeking to reaffirm their own faith and values or those merely in search of something positive on which they may build upon and in some way incorporate into their own lives. The film is well made and looks and plays well beyond its budget. Strong acting and steady direction round Courageous into form as a fantastic, must-see movie fit for all audiences.

Nicholas R (us) wrote: A clever criminal leads his gang to safety after an undercover operation is blown by the cops, and the media catches a glimpse of the interaction that causes the HK police force to lose face. Enter a game of chess played through the media by both the police and the criminals that makes you wonder if anything seen on TV is ever the truth, and if so, who's truth is it? Watch it for the brillaint concept and execution of a media thrill ride.

Esther L (br) wrote: A very nice film talking about Nazi and Jews. A little black humor and relationship among all those characters are complicated. Glad to have watched it in HKIFF.

Robyn M (ru) wrote: This movie came out on my birthday. On theatre or a tv screen this movies like poetry. interverted shy guy meets, exterverted free-spirit girl. Both 'Prince'and 'Stiles' are electrifying. What begins as the perfect college romance becomes a close hit of possible pregnancy, stiles scared and tested negative changes her life path by dumping Prince and the school for other options. Prince who doesn't take it to well buys her favorite shampoo and attempts to commit suicide by drinking the bottle. His attempt back fires. just before he give up on hope. Stiles comes back and rekindles the love, on one condition no more shampoo drinking!

Dylan N (es) wrote: To objectively critique Fear of A Black Hat is simply to ask why this isn't regarded as one of the best comedies of all time. Most obviously is the originality demerits that come with being produced a decade after Spinal Tap. Still, even in its imitation it is brilliantly original, filled with nonstop laughs stemming from the sheer outlandishness of NWH (Niggas With Hats) and the society that produced them. The film could be a lot heavier with the cultural commentary, only dabbling lightly in a wide variety of controversial issues for laughs rather than to make any truly bold statements. It can also be argued that the characters similarity to real life rappers is too blatant, and somewhat cheap (Flava Flav is Tasty Taste, Ice Cube is Ice Cold, etc). Really, it has very few shortcomings. I'm assuming the marketing for this film was terrible, and I hope that one day this will be recognized as the deliciously entertaining film that it is.

Chris H (es) wrote: If you watch one funny and corny and oh so badly acted but greatly choreographed and violent 90's kickboxing film.. watch this. really good!

Edmund C (kr) wrote: Initially watched it because Ricky Nelson was in it. Well-written and acted, starring John Wayne, Dean Martin and Angie Dickinson. It's set in Texas, and Dean Martin's character is called 'Dude'! Awesome to see action and shooting that was filmed raw, without today's visual effects. Everyone seems to use guns in cowboy land..(and in many ways it's still the same today). Liked it beyond expectations!

Noel V (ag) wrote: Nicholas Ray's debut feature is in many ways as impressive a debut as Welles' with Citizen Kane (and in fact some of the same people, most notably John Houseman, worked on this). Ray like Welles didn't have an idea how a Hollywood movie was made, and you could tell--it's full of striking sequences (the wedding with the look and sense of dread of a Jacques Tourneur horror scene, the numerous helicopter shots, the bank robbery shot almost entirely from inside a car). It's a crime film but what probably made it a hit and made everyone remember it was the doomed romance between Keechie and Bowie (Catherine O'Donnell and Farley Granger, both terrific)--about as simple and beautifully detailed a love story as anything I've seen (the changes on O'Donnell's face when a doorbell rings just about breaks one's heart). A great film, one of many Ray will turn out.
