It also adopts the same construct in the way that it is one of the strongest chapters of the series. It's one of three good films in a series of 5 (soon to be six). I think Paranormal Activity is a brilliant series personally and The Marked Ones adds benevolently to them. Whilst the jump-scares are slightly predictable and those that weren't thrilled by the efforts of the other films need not apply as there really isn't anything new here. If you enjoyed the first few then you'll definitely enjoy this one. It's also one of the more bizarre ones.

This time Topper has to deal with the ghost of Joan Blondell who for absolutely no disernable reason only appears to Topper. Together they try and solve her murder in a spooky old mansion complete with a masked killer wearing a cape. Billie Burke and Eddie "Rochester" Anderson are highlights while Donald MacBride chews the scenery as a frustrated cop. Dennis O'Keefe works as the love interest and Carole Landis looks terrific. Even Joan Blondell is pretty good though she could clear things up pretty quickly if she just appeared to someone other than the guy she only knows from him giving her a lift. This put an end to the Topper series until TV cast Leo G. Carroll in the role.
