Caroline B (jp) wrote: This film is very funny and sweet. Gerard Depardieu and the other guy share this same woman to whom they cannot make happy or give her satisfaction, sexually or in general; when she falls in love for this genius kid of 13 the two friends have to keep going around the mess with the kid's family, the conviction of the woman in keeping the kid for her and all sorts of confusion. worth it!

The atmosphere and cinematography stay on course to keep the story moving along nicely. The brutality is even heightened in a few scenes which gives 28 Weeks Later its own flair.

Mitchell M (us) wrote: ed harris fans will be disappointed-his role is small. what's interesting here are the performances by hackman, nolte and the trancendent cassidy (she was robbed of an oscar nomination). never have these actors been better. a new genre is forged here ( "80's noir"-my creation!) and hackman's piano stylings to boot. pinter meets oliver stone.
