Adriano B (jp) wrote: What does Miike do when he feels playful? It plays, apparantely: not with the GB Advance, I ain't tellin ya $ hit, but with cliche & tropes. So he takes everything given for certain in a well cemented, mostly predictable (Hollywood) genre, the procedural court drama, and strips it from the founding substance: logic. The result is a fun extravaganza, a only half formed parody with lot of self-comfidence, involuted but full of wonder.

Brent D (ru) wrote: If you gave me a movie with Megan Fox as Megan Fox with wings, Bill Murray as a gangster, and Mickey Rourke as a down-on-his-luck jazz musician, I'd normally charge into it grinning....which I did. Too bad the fact is a David Lynch directed adaptation of a Dashiell Hammet novel with none of the cool. The acting is generally good, especially by Bill Murray, but it's almost all nearly lost in the script and editing. The romance between Megan and Mickey alternates between sweet and weird, and while the angel thing could have been cool, the effects just make it dumb. Outside of Bill Murray, there's really nothing to recommend here so I'd say this is one film you can safely pass.

Amanda C (ag) wrote: Ginger Snaps is probably the most accurate and perfect film about female puberty ever made. The werewolf metaphor is pitch perfect and manages to capture the fear and uncertainty of everything that's going on. Ginger Snaps captures all of it, while also managing to be sarcastic and fun. It goes off the rails at the end a bit, but the lead up is so great this hardly matters.

Jeremy W (br) wrote: The most uniquely crafted movie brought by Johnnie To to display a criminal with nothing left to lose against a cop into his own game of vengeance. The moments delivered, the chase was on, the film was great!!

Rebecca G (es) wrote: this film has the 3 D's that are a very important part of john waters movies. disturbing, demented, and disgusting. 5 stars!

Ashley H (ca) wrote: They Live by Night is a fascinating film. It is about an escaped convict who is injured and is helped by a woman with whom he has a relationship with. Catherine O'Donnell and Farley Granger give excellent performances. The screenplay is well written and exciting. Nicholas Ray did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed this motion picture because of the drama. They Live by Night is a must see.

Jason F (ag) wrote: The closest thing I can compare this film to is "Pulp Fiction". In fact, that's a perfect comparison. "Snatch" is the British version of "Pulp Fiction". With great laughs, characters, and style "Snatch" succeeds where others would normally fail, and a definite career maker for Jason Statham.
