(kr) wrote: 5.5/10. Its rather bland and not very exiting. The cast in particular are not particularly thrilling. It has some good scenes, but overall a pretty average film. It lacks good construction.
(de) wrote: A mildly intriguing plot and quite a few good jokes allow this film to pleasantly tread water through its brisk run-time. It's only a small cut above the average "comedy", but we'll take what we can get these days.
(jp) wrote: Chock full of esoteric symbolism. This film can be seen on many different levels. The score added much tension and was driving me crazy. Friggin illuminati and their sex rituals...
(au) wrote: As Bobby(Christian Bale) tells it, due to being hit by a car as a child, his brain is not quite right and is unable to understand complex issues, leaving him in a childlike state and possibly vulnerable to the manipulations of his wicked stepfather(Daniel Benzali) after the death of his mother(Amy Robbins). That being said, mama did not raise any idiots, as Bobby firmly resists any efforts to sign away his mother's store, even under threats and his pet mouse being killed. So, Bobby does the only sensible thing by going for a long walk, before hitching a ride to Cornwall with a trucker(John O'Toole) who tries to run over a fox. In stopping him, Bobby causes the truck to crash before encountering Mr. Summers(John Hurt) who has more sympathy for a dead rabbit than the dead truck driver. "All the Little Animals" has certain things going for it like excellent acting and pleasant scenery. And I like that the movie is about people attempting to live off the grid, especially the bit about the Travelers. But sadly, it takes a pedestrian approach to this potentially interesting material, which does not allow the viewer to fully grasp what the world looks like through Bobby's eyes, as the movie cannot decide whether the world of animals is less cruel than that of humans or that Bobby and Summers have their priorities thoroughly out of whack. That's not to mention the movie eventually falling into a cliched trap of a climax.
(ag) wrote: This film went backwards instead following up the sorta decent second film and decided to be more like the first. Nothing much really happened here. A few flashes of what could have been a better flick but all in all it disappointed. Everything here felt uninspired and rushed.
(us) wrote: Family fun that even the adults will enjoy....not a classic but good solid Disney.
(it) wrote: As he also does in Straight-Jacket, William Castle attempts to cash in on Hitchcock's Psycho with his own film, Homicidal. But frankly, Homicidal works really well and its ending is perfect without being obvious. Silly, campy, and terribly acted, but well-made, Homicidal will delight fans of Castle and 60s horror cinema. Castle takes from Hitchcock and provides enough of his own twist to make it a genuinely enjoyable little horror film.
(mx) wrote: Pretty silly, and awful, horror monster flick. The monster is so poorly done, it sure doesn?t produce any scares. Poor score, seems more suited to a spaceship kind of film.
(mx) wrote: Solid British World War II action drama. Great cast, well written, the story is interesting. The cinematography is good. A fine film.
(it) wrote: The hot sex is all in the first five minutes. After that, it's just a redundantly violent movie. Every cliche - a vicious but stupid son of a Mafia don, last minute phone calls, cops called to the door, a chase down the staircase, a convenient knife - all so hackneyed. If you can't fast forward through the middle, you'll be begging Joe Pantoliano to kill you. Go watch "Goodfellas" for the twentieth time and save yourself the incredulity.
(us) wrote: This is a terrible adaption and just an overall dull movie. There is so much potential with this story and they completely wasted and rushed it with this movie. Huge let down.
(gb) wrote: So it's interesting what this movie does (interesting like a train wreck). The idea was to take 9/11 and say, hey, terrible things have been done (allegedly) in the name of religious extremism before, and in September too -- isn't that interesting? That was the idea. What they ended up doing was defaming a religion and fomenting hatred and intolerance of it, leaving us with the message that only vanilla Protestantism can be the One True Faith. Good Lord! That's so much better than what the people you're trying to vilify (allegedly) did!
(de) wrote: This movie is an 'Old timer' nationalist wet dream. Bad science mixed in with a dash of racism, Ephebiphobia, Technophobia and really creepy moments of old guys hitting on much younger women. Despite being about pilots who always wanted to reach space, the desire behind it takes a back seat to the larger drama: to complain the entire way to space while never taking a moment to thank the people (NASA) who are providing you with this lifelong dream.
(it) wrote: Intense action movie with a compelling story. The most amazing heartfelt storyline and footage I've seen in this type of thing.
(es) wrote: Like its central character, The Benefactor is lost by giving a little of too many things. It has an intriguing premise with a handful of great actors to deliver the story. Yet, it just keeps teasing and the core issue is never dealt with handsomely.
