On the contrary, if you like your horror gory and your humor black, you'll have a great time with this excellent gem coming from our neighbors to the North. Excellent performances from Isabelle and Perkins as the twisted sisters bring a gravity and strength to females that is practically non-existent in the "ch-ch-ch-ah-ah-ah" world of horror films, where teenage girls are just victims waiting to happen and nothing more. There shouldn't have been a sequel to this, much less the two that exist.
Adam F (gb) wrote: "Baby Geniuses" wasn't necessarily a bad idea. The conceit of the movie is that babies are born intelligent and speak a language that only they can understand and that as they grow older the forget it and become like us. A scientist has discovered this and tries to prove it, while some bad guys... ok maybe the plot sounds idiotic, but I have the feeling that something interesting could be done with completely physically inept heroes trying to get away and outsmart the adults that are out to get them. You just need a smart writer. Unfortunately, this movie is extraordinarily stupid. It's like the idea was "babies are cute, seeing them do non-baby things will be hilarious" was all of the thinking they did before making the actual film. "Baby Geniuses" doesn't show any inventive thinking, The same jokes get repeated over and over, the unfunny satire makes you wish it would simply go away and nonsensical plot drag this quickly into a near unwatchable mess. To make it even worse, the director knew this movie was complete junk and decided to throw in a last minute music video at the end in the hopes that seeing babies laughing at the sound of "Gift Of Love" by Randy Travis would make you forget how terrible the movie was. Daniel V (kr) wrote: Voted by AFI as one of the top ten epics of all time. It's pretty epic alright. Nearly 3 1/2 hours worth of epic. The story takes place in 1915 when communism is just an ideal that is about to become a political movement. Warren Beatty directed and starred in this politically charged epic of a journalist who turned into a hero for the communist/socialist movement. The only American buried in the Kremlin, which is very high honor. Diane Keaton is brilliant, Jack Nicholson is amazing and this movie is never dull. Slow maybe but never dull. Ironic how a movie subject can be so relevant in 1915, 1980, and now in 2014.
