Andrew L (ru) wrote: In a somewhat war background story, this film has many mixed elements from humor, relationships, love and jealously. Tony Leung, Sean Lau and Zhou Xun all have a combination of great performances that bonds the characters together in order to fool the other characters as well as the movie's audiences. The film has a good story by Derek Yee, Tin Nam Chun and Ho Leung Lau, and a good direction from Derek Yee.

Hungary has an appalling history of oppression and this movie shows a touching human side to their tragic past.

Mat K (de) wrote: I had high hopes for this movie about a retired miner, in small town Germany, who falls in love with Cajun music. However it plodded along, had too many extraneous characters and scenes. Despite the main character being a polka player and Cajun music playing a pivotal plot point the movie also suffered from a lack of a sound track. I never got into the movie and about three quarters of the way through I got called away and never bothered to put it back on.
Adam S (ag) wrote: The third installment in the series that effectively put Australian film making on the map is easily the worst. As Mick "Crocodile" Dundee trades the Australian outback for the superficial surrounds of Los Angeles, so too does the film trade the charm and wit of the original for the formulated routine of a Hollywood comedy. It's still fun to watch, as is anything starring Paul Hogan, but you'd be let down if you were expecting anything of the quality of "Crocodile Dundee"

Dionne R (mx) wrote: The ending was awesome. I'm just now seeing this movie in 2017. May not have caused any ripples then since there where other movies similar that it had to compete with but in 2017 with what we are dealing with today this movie hits close to home. Gives me the chills to see how the mass murders, random shooting, and now bombings are all here just as past movies have predicted.
Greg C (ru) wrote: This actually turned out to be a much better film than I expected. Acting was so-so, but the storyline had an interesting twist. Not to mention, the scenes of Ryan Phillippe doing certain "acts" were well worth watching :D
James H (ag) wrote: Silly sci-fi drama, not very convincing and a complete lack of imagination as to the future. The female news anchor has such 1980's hair and make-up! Hopelessly dated.

I think that Michael douglas was absolutely brilliant throughout this movie.....WARNING YOU HAVE GOT TO WATCH THE END OF THE CREDITS THROUGHOUT THIS MOVIE AS SOMETHING HAPPENS AT THE END OF THE CREDITS THROUGHOUT THIS MOVIE........its got such a good soundtrack throughout this movie......Michael Crichton sold the movie rights for $1 million before the novel was published. Milo Forman was originally attached to direct but left due to creative differences with Crichton. Barry Levinson and Alan J. Pakula were in contention to take the helm and Levinson was hired.Annette Bening was originally set to play Meredith until she became pregnant and soon dropped out. Geena Davis and Michelle Pfeiffer were then considered before Levinson decided to cast Demi Moore. Crichton wrote the character Mark Lewyn for the film specifically with Dennis Miller in mind. The character from the book was somewhat modified for the screenplay to fit Miller's personality. The virtual reality corridor sequence was designed by Industrial Light & Magic. The movie was filmed in and around Seattle, Washington. The fictional corporation DigiCom is located in Pioneer Square, on a set which was constructed for the film. Production designer Neil Spisak said, "DigiCom needed to have a hard edge to it, with lots of glass and a modern look juxtaposed against the old red brick which is indigenous to the Pioneer Square area of Seattle. Barry liked the idea of using glass so that wherever you looked you'd see workers in their offices or stopping to chat. This seemed to fit the ominous sense that Barry was looking for-a sort of Rear Window effect, where you're looking across at people in their private spaces."Also shown are the Washington State Ferries because Douglas' character lives on Bainbridge Island. Other locations include Washington Park Arboretum, Volunteer Park, the Four Seasons Hotel on University St., Pike Place Market and Smith Tower (Alvarez's law office). The director of photography was the British cinematographer Tony Pierce-Roberts.I think that this is such a gripping movie 2 watch, but it is such a really powerful drama movie 2 watch, its got such a brilliant cast throughout this movie.....I think that this is such an enjoyable movie 2 watch, with such a fantastic cast throughout this movie......
Nick A (us) wrote: I stumbled across this film and really enjoyed it. It's a documentary made in 1968 and it's just loaded with sub text. It's not a feel good film, but it's one that you'll probably not be able to quit thinking about after you watch it because it will affect you on many different levels. It was one of the more evocative films I've seen in a long time. It's done so well, you might forget you're watching a documentary. Everyone in it is so good and so believable. It's a reality show format that's about four decades ahead of its time.It seems like the kind of film you can watch over and over and get something different out of it every time. It'll take you back to real, "real housewives" era. As for the men, it made me think of how many people hung on to horrible jobs back then because job hopping wasn't the thing to do. By the way, the guys who made this movie went on to make "Gimme' Shelter."

Dann M (us) wrote: An unnecessary but somewhat intriguing semi-prequel, Psycho IV: The Beginning explores the backstory of Norman Bates. While discussing mother killers, the host of a radio show gets the call of her life when Norman Bates calls in to give her an insider's perspective, and to reveal that he will kill again. A lot of the backstories seem contrived, but the present day story is quite interesting. And while overall the acting isn't that good, Anthony Perkins once again gives a captivating performance. Despite its weaknesses, Psycho IV: The Beginning delivers a solid thriller and a climatic conclusion to the saga.
