Recomendada.

The script is a masterclass of exposition, showing the audience exactly who John Cusack's protagonist is through story cues and context. Likewise, the haunted house backstory is unfolded steadily and with suitable dread. After twenty minutes, I was hooked and eager to see what lay in store.Turns out, not much. The movie sputters on all cylinders for its remaining 80 minutes, stretching it's flimsy premise out for far too long. It would have worked far better as a short.Apparently Stephen King wrote 1408 as an exercise in revising a first draft for his book "On Writing." It should have been revised further. 5.0/10

Anna B (ru) wrote: If you can get past the rough bits, most of which are part-and-parcel of post '90s B-movies (not to mention the pretty sickening subtext of the original story) there's a rather tense and disturbing little horror movie contained in here that goes to show you don't need all the resources (or the best actors) in the world to gross and/or freak people out.
Joey V (au) wrote: The best hood movie ever and I say that boldly Ice Cube, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Morris Chestnut, and Laurence Fishburne all show off their acting skills as this movie goes over the hood in urban America with a compassionate script and story that has so much truth to it. Boyz N The Hood really shows what people don't pay attention to with less exaggeration and more truth.

This ended up being a favorite of mine when I was younger...although, some of the things going on I had no idea what it meant!!!

Cade H (br) wrote: Paycheck is a futuristic film involving seeing into the future, having your memory erased and lots of action. If that sounds interesting to you then you might like this one. Being a John Woo film there are some sweet action sequences and car chases along with the standard white dove moment. There is a lot going on at times because Affleck had his memory erased and he tried to figure out what happened and how to save himself from the enemy. They bring in some aspects with the "machine that can see the future" but it all seems rather shallow and they never go to in depth with any one idea. Most of the film has Affleck on the run and fighting off bad guys so for the action enthusiast there is plenty to keep your interest here. It is a fun ride but a rather shallow one that will provide some fun.
Chantal B (au) wrote: How does a script this unfunny, this immature, this badly done and conceived, this intoxicated, manage to end up with such a beautiful and creative production? We hunger for adult animated fare and for some reason the only version of adult we get is stoner comedy. There is no wit, only what a child would think is adult humour. Namely sex, profanity, and rape jokes. Recommended solely to stop-mo buffs, and even then only on mute.
