Adam and Eve
Easy-going, gentle college-boy Adam Baker enjoys frat-life, however disgusting the frat-house gets because of his sloppy house-mates Freddie, Ferguson and Munch. Then Adam meets Eve, starts falling in love, but gets jealous of frat-brother Billy, who 'bumps' almost constantly without seeking love, while Eve guards her campus-unique virginity. As even his thrice-divorced dad, an MD, urges Adam to get laid rather then loved, his patience runs out against healthy hormones

(ru) wrote: a wonderful story of jiu-jitsu as it was not mixed martial arts as it was simply jiu-jitsu but as a fan i still enjoyed it the storyline was really well done in the master mike terry keeps getting screwed over and in the hole time and time again and losing his newest black belt along the way and the only chance he has to get some money is a setup anyway so he takes on the business owner and top main event fighter and wins to receive the redbelt from a great master who watched the fight so a great storyline well written and had a good solid direction and wasnt hard to miss out on the points at hand the martial arts aspect was spaced out and there could have been more scenes consisting of martial arts but what hey had was just as good the directing was good but the camera angles were a little off on some scenes and especially in the fight scenes but the scenes were well put together and had a solid base to it and the acting was well done on chiwetel ejiofors part and he really gve off the aspect of honour and justice like a true martial artist so it was nice to see and it was also well done by the supporting cast as well and it was nice to see some fighters like randy couture frank trigg josh raffety and mike goldberg so it was a good movie had some errors and had room for improvement but a great martial arts film and should be seen by any action film lovers

(ca) wrote: Slow, serene, and quietly contemplative. These adjectives could describe almost any bad art-house film but here describe a very good and occasionally great one, Wong Kar-Wai's first movie that actually feels like a Wong Kar-Wai movie and not like his horribly wrong-headed first film, the coolly-titled As Tears Go By. There is little plot that connects a series of beautifully shot moments, moments where the possiblity of love and human contact is so breathtakingly filmed (I stress the word possiblity) but of course can never be realized, because time and the nature of their own beings preclude any such possiblity. Kar Wai thinks like Antonioni, films like Godard and in doing so lays his own heart bare. The resulting films are some of the most beautiful films you'll ever see, of which this is no different. Minor side note- This film features a cameo by the incomparable Tony Leung, and many have speculated that his silent character is meant to represent the character he plays later on in In the Mood For Love and 2046. As neat as it is seeing him in this film, it stands as an entirely extraneous shot that serves nothing to either this film or In the Mood for Love or 2046. A meandering blemish on an otherwise very nearly great film.

(kr) wrote: reteaming Granger and O'Donnel from "they Live By Not". Not quite up to the task of topping that one, this was still a damn fine noir. Granger is down on his luck and decides to take a chance in crime so as to support his pregant wife. It's noir, you figure out how it goes. Mann directs this with his typical assuered hand and really, just watch the fucking thing.
