Age of the Dragons is an adaptation of Herman Melville's classic novel Moby Dick. Set in a medieval realm where Captain Ahab and crew hunt dragons for the vitriol that powers their world, Ishmael, a charismatic harpooner and his friend Queequeg join their quest. Ahab's adopted daughter Rachel, beautiful and tough, runs the hunting vessel. Ahab's obsession to seek revenge on a great White Dragon that slaughtered his family when he was young and left his body scarred and mauled, drives the crew deeper into the heart of darkness. In the White Dragon's lair Ahab's secrets are revealed and Rachel must choose between following him on his dark quest or escaping to a new life with Ishmael.

Allan S (kr) wrote: It was good to watch Angus Sampson in a movie, it was kind of bad that it was this one. A dumb & dumber style friendship has these two guys trying to prevent a Soapie from being axed. Some of the better parts of the film are when the actors seem to be laughing at themselves.

Kalem W (gb) wrote: A very casual comedy, with lots of great performances. A gem of a movie from John Candy and Richard Lewis in a movie that probably could not be made again today.

Carlos M (us) wrote: A manipulative thriller that wants to be a claustrophobic experience but has an irritatingly intrusive score and a heavy-handed, unnecessarily overstylish direction. Besides, Reynolds is not very good and his character acts like an imbecile during most of the film.
The A (fr) wrote: Dom Hemingway is a film about failure. The titular character is a failure, and you don't root for him because he's an effective portrayal of an anti-hero or even because of his badass attitude; you root for him because he's pathetic and pitiable, and he knows it. I'm going to go ahead and say that his massive ego is excused by a superiority complex, which may be one reason why the drama from the film's second half feels more real while it covers some touching aspects from the point of the man who has nothing but his name. That does not excuse the first half from being unfocused, or the film's disregard to choosing one of its many plot possibilities and anchoring itself into a coherent and better story than what it ended up giving us. That being said, it is likely just the result of the film following the escapades of a man whose life is truly as jumbled as the film itself; Dom Hemingway.

O filme em si fraco e at o Capito Amrica (Chris Evans) que acho um bom ator est meio descolado nele. Mas a Anna salva um filme recheado de clichs e roteiro raso.
