Karen B (de) wrote: This is an amusing but not thrilling comedy about a woman trying to pass her driving test, against a backdrop of various characters forming unwise romantic relationships. Male lead David Tennant, writer/star Jessica Hynes and supporting actor Shaun Dingwall all starred or guest starred in Doctor Who prior to making this British tv special. As an American, I have to say the show doesn't travel well, but if you like low-key romantic dramedy, or just want to see David Tennant play something very different from the Doctor or Casanova, you may want to give this a try.

Taking place in rural Alabama, a UFO crash lands spreading a disease that turns people into zombies. There are a few divergent stories which all tie together and each one is great in its own way. If you dont mind a total B movie, and horror and comedy are a great mix for you, check this one out. One of the best post Shaun of the Dead zombedies (along with Black Sheep, Fido, and Dead and Breakfast).

James S (jp) wrote: Ewan McGregor and Emily Blunt combine in 'Salmon Fishing in the Yemen'. Certainly an odd premise, the movie tells the tale of one mans ambition to bring water, life and most importantly salmon to the oil country of Yemen. Unsurprisingly the writers have to bring some other components into the storyline to bulk it out, but these I did not mind too much. The romantic elements were reasonable, although this was primarily down to our two leads that I think gave good performances. An attempt at humour is regularly made, although only sometimes succeeds. Whilst the involvement of angry locals provides the finale, I felt as though this was brought upon slightly too abruptly. There was very little mention of this threat throughout the movie, meaning it just looked as though the writers needed a way of ending it. Otherwise a perfectly acceptable watch.

Justin B (mx) wrote: Underrated Brosnan entry. It follows the formula but does it will and is a surprisingly coherent production given its rocky development cycle. Brosnan's more understated but still sarcastic portrayal makes a return along with a great bond girl and a great villain with an outlandish but unique plot.
