Haneef A (fr) wrote: Star Trek Beyond is directed by Justin Lin and starring Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, and Karl Urban.Recommended for hardcore Trekkies. A C+.Surprisingly I don't like this movie. I was very disappointed. The acting is good, the chemistry between the Enterprise crew is good and heartwarming. The first 20 minutes of the movie is intriguing and mysterious, with a great action sequence involving the Enterprise. But after that I was bored with the movie. There were no more thrilling and heart-pounding action like in Star Trek (2009) or Into The Darkness. In fact, the action was surprisingly lame and lacklustre. The plot is too simple and predictable, the villain is weak..not as strong as Khan in Darkness or even Nero in Star Trek.At least two scene transitions felt very choppy...as if some integral scenes are cut from the final product.IMHO, the worst Star Trek movie of the new timeline. Disappointed. A C+.

Kevin R (br) wrote: You're not even going to see it, snitch. One day the lights are just going to go out.Taking place in the late 70s, a man returns to his home from the military in the rough parts of Philadelphia. He finds most of his friends targeted by the police and a former crush with a son and too many responsibilities. He is often targeted by a former friend as a possible snitch because of perceived historical events. His crush sees him as a man that runs away from his problems. Can the soldier dealing with his own issues ever fit back into the neighborhood, or will the neighborhood discard him like so many others? "You're all fighting imaginary enemies."Tanya Hamilton, director of an episode of Split Screen, delivers Night Catches Us in her directorial debut. The storyline for this picture is very interesting and the settings and feel for the time period was very good. I did enjoy the characters depicted in this film and the dialogue was compelling and strong. The cast delivers solid performances and includes Kerry Washington, Anthony Mackie, Tariq Trotter, Ron Simons, Jamara Griffin, Sadiq Afif, and Thomas Roy. "The bible verse, I put it back the way it was."I am a fan of Scandal and Kerry Washington and came across this movie while scrolling through Netflix and decided to give it a shot (especially since I had never heard of it). I enjoyed the storyline for this picture and the interactions between characters. This is far from one of the better films in this genre, but it is entertaining and worth watching. I would give this movie at least one viewing but I wouldn't add it to my DVD collection."We have some constitutional issues here, mother fucker."Grade: B-/B

Emily R (nl) wrote: This was not a blockbuster movie, but I really liked it anyway. It was odd and fun in a kooky way. The character Coleen was unique, she's not so bright but has this consistent innocence, somewhat child like personality, yet she can kill and then go grab a meal like nothing happened. I might watch it again sometime.

Gabriella F (de) wrote: I loved this movie. Way better than I thought it was going to be, and way better than rotten tomatoes mess it out to be. It was sweet, decent amount of action, and less predictable than most movies like this. It's an English movie, yknow? I like it.
