Geoffrey T (mx) wrote: Funny and adorable! The main character is already a grandpa and he's still in his mid-30s. The sequence of events is believable though and makes you think that having a grandchild in your mid-30s is uber cool!
Sgt C (gb) wrote: (56%)The first opening half hour works quite well as we get sucked into Harry's bleak world of pain, fear and anger, but as it goes further and further along it starts to fall apart before dropping into absurdity at the end. The idea of an older man in some of the more dangerous parts of Britain taking on thugs only works up to a point, and when it becomes too Hollywood, and a bit too like Death wish 3, then it everything starts to crumble. If it had stayed gritty and somewhat realistic until the end then this could have really been something, instead it's a missed chance of a potential future classic.

Barancy P (gb) wrote: ah yes- yor the hunter from the future!!!this is a great movie. you cannot deny yor his glory. you gotta love the cover of this movie- yor standing atop a rock batting multiple UFO's with his stone axe. with a budget slightly larger than what you might find from an ambitious producer on your local community access television channel, this movie achieves greatness in a variety of ways.you never actually see the ships that attack a village yor visits because it was apparently beyond the budget so instead all you hear are the ships flying around and some laser beams hitting the huts of the village folk.and yor with his rescue of ka-la from the clutches of a purple caveman clan is unforgettable. by shooting down a giant bat-monster with a single half-hearted shot from his bow, yor uses the dead bat-monster to hang glide down into a cave to rescue his woman!!yor is one of science fictions greatest champions!!!i want to see this movie turned into a video game!!!!!!
K C (it) wrote: And the table was set... This film marked the first for George Raft under the Warners' regime. Famous as a young song and dance man, Raft later became Paramount's answer to Cagney in their mobster film genre, but in the end, no one could compete with the Warner Bros. in that category. The film paired Cagney with his semi-rival and the two did well together on screen. Two song and dance actors in gritty gangster stereotype action makes for a great film. The story is well paced and keeps in stride, a well versed supporting ensemble to help. Ironically, it was Raft who would later turn down 'High Sierra' and 'The Maltese Falcon', making way for another Cagney gangster co-star, Humphrey Bogart.

Kyle M (ru) wrote: Thrilling and gripping with an original, yet forgettable, direction that's almost like "Die Hard 2" while the violence and overdone contents trying to lower down the film's level with almost a little success. (B+)(Full review coming soon)
