Angelina C (ru) wrote: "When you leave, you still feel her on your skin" Sam Worthington's character Joe confessed. That's how I felt after watching Somersault. This film would be nothing more than your average flick has it not been for the mesmerizing, heartfelt performance by the principal leads especially Cornish. She successfully and beautifully captured young Heidi's vulnerability and sexuality with a performance of tremendous beauty and power. She is drawn to the intimacies of sex mostly to avoid being alone. Abbie Cornish makes us feel Heidi's fragility every step of the way, going through a confusing time in life, in which adolescence and adulthood collide. Not quite a teenager, not quite a woman yet. The director Shortland chronicles Heidi's opportunistic and self-destructive choices without sentimentality. A winner of no less than 13 Australian Film Awards, impressive debut feature for writer-director Cate Shortland.

gustavmarkovic31 (es) wrote: its a dull satire, with an okay storyline, but unfortunately, david spade and the support characters can't do much in their roles, other than muck it up, which they do well. the best part is at the end when about 20 or 30 or so child stars are singing the credits song.

Ted W (nl) wrote: Great book to movie adaptation. I heard this is the first cgi animation in real life movie, well that's what it said in the interview of stuart little. Michael j fox as stuart and Jonathan lipnickel as George are a good mouse to kid relationship in the movie.

Sean C (ag) wrote: I've always given Umberto Lenzi's films a chance for some reason, but to this day, I have yet to see a movie that I actually liked. This one is one of the worst ones. Terrible acting, terrible dialogue and delivery and it seems to rely heavily on locations like a lot of the Italian movies of the 1980s. The storyline is really kind of choppy and thrown together and the zombies look bad.

Jason M (it) wrote: Excellent movie...Just be prepared because it's pretty slow, drags on a bit, and becomes predictable....Modern remake of the classic. The concept stays true to the main story. Acting and directing are pretty good. No graphic or scary parts in this movie as it is a psychological thriller. Probably could have used some more blood and gore, but it's still good. You don't really see the transformation between the two, all you see is either the beginning or the withdrawal...The last 30 minutes of the movie are very predictable, especially the very typical ending...Good to rent on for 2 bucks or so...

Scott A (jp) wrote: Pretty good film about a family that has their son abducted by a tribe of people in the Rain Forest. 10 years later the father finds his son, who has no interest in leaving his new world.Besides Meg Foster, nearly every seconds of any other female on screen, they are nude. I found this a tad distracting the entire movie. These women aren't like real people, but actresses, so it's a lot of good looking females...naked. The WHOLE time. I guess I just never got used to it. Just a warning if you got younger viewers with you!The acting is okay and I much liked the first half showing the daily actions of the tribe. Once another rival tribe finds a gun and comes shooting it loses some steam. And the sup plot about the women in a strip club? WTF?It's a good watch at least once, but I'd probably never watch it again.

Movie's direction, story, the screenplay, graphics, animation and its soundtracks will leave you pumped up!!! It's an hell raising flick and a jaw dropping stunt by Robert Zemeckis!

Brad G (ca) wrote: James Spader was just a somewhat skeevy 80s wannabe WallStreeter puttering about his yuppie world when wicked Rob Lowe saunters in with his seedy grifts and schemes and causes all kind of evilness. You know, now that I think of it, Rob Lowe is less of a ??bad influence?? and more an Evil Shit. Still, I love the second half of the film when the film noirish badness starts snowballing. And I was pleasantly surprised by where the Spader and actual real life friend Christian Clemenosn??s sibling relationship wind up?need more Clemenson/Spader team-ups! Curtis Hanson hasn??t quite reached the skill he later showed with LA Confidential or Wonder Boys, but this is a helluva lot better than The River Wild. Not VF.
