Millo T (jp) wrote: Alex de la Iglesias is specializing in a gothic, black humouristic opera which combines barroquism, historical and cultural references, great actors (Carmen Maura and De la Iglesia have found a curious relation muse-director), acid irony to everything, hot stuff, and, in this case, battle of sexes. And we must acknowledge that he, you may like it or not, he does each time better. The beginning is spectacular, either the imaginery.

Kevin K (it) wrote: Not too bad. I rather enjoyed the creepiness and realistic take on Dracula's historical origins. Aside from the final scene, the whole film is pretty much entirely historically accurate, which get's an added bonus for me and adds to the creepy vibe. It's a somewhat cheap looking production, but entertaining and creepy. Not bad at all.

Michael B (br) wrote: I'd avoided this one for years, because I was wary about how Spike Lee might handle a film about a phone sex operator. When I realized that Suzan-Lori Parks wrote the screenplay, I gave it a look. Not surprised it did so poorly with audiences as it is surreal and fragmented as the most interesting of Parks's work is. Theresa Randle is excellent in the lead. Not consistently good as a satire of gender expectations, but has its compelling moments.

Ako G (fr) wrote: Sunset Song is an emotional drama that gave me beautiful visuals with great detail, great acting of the lead actress but also a story that begins powerfully but drags on in the second half and results in an overall mixed result. We go through a huge part of the life of Chris Guthrie, ranging from when she was young and had to live with an aggressive father to her being independent and finding love and ending with her happy life being ruined by World War 1. The Scottish landscapes are absolutely beautiful, the daily lives and communities of the farmers is what deserves most credit in my eyes. It is very detailed and feels really genuine. Agyness Deyn put up a very great performance, but was unable to stop the second part of the movie being absolutely boring and uninteresting. Had they not dragged this movie on that long, it could have been completely different.
