Niar E (kr) wrote: Though I heard that the director is so ultra-Orthodox, for me the movie not a description of traditions but carping it! What is happening inside that ultra-Orthodox Jewish society is hiding a lot of muffled emotions. You cannot see a notable amount of acting because the story is so simple and the characters are moving in their drawn line. It's not for love nor money, so for what reason... Is it really a wedding may keep the happiness with the unity of the family or just a trial to overcome a heartbreaking loss?No one may watch this can avoid to remember "Jane Austen", it is the same idealized and stuck in relationship and ritual details, that you cannot keep aside of feeling empathy for them. What is making the suitable scenes is the accurate cinematography, well-done art production with that power of dark colors to involve us in that sadness in tiny crowded rooms, and nice performance of Hadras Yiron with her meaningful tears. It can be simply told and quicker, but not dull, for the strict and sad situations are turned into something to feel and live, by applying a good amount of ritual singing. It looks easy to be done. Well, but it's a nice discovery of a good female director, and a spot light on dark places not usually lighted.

I liked that the movie talked about water as a whole and focused on the issue globally and not one particular country or area. I knew Nestle owned and operated many popular bottled water companies. I knew the water came from Michigan, but I learned what it was doing to the earth. I would recommend seeing this movie. Then sign the petition Article 31: The Right to Water

Michael W (ru) wrote: Deck the Halls! Sequel effortlessly recaps the relevant backstory by incorporating approx 40 mins of footage from the first film before blazing its own trail. Here, it's Billy's brother that goes on a killing spree on Christmas Eve. Not exactly in tune with the true spirit of the holidays. I almost didn't recognize Elizabeth Kaitan (Cayton) as part of the film's finest scene in the theater.

Stephen C (ag) wrote: Or as i like to call it Eight Million ways to fall asleep.Given the talent involved here its a shame this film is such a crushing bore, with a plot that never gets going and Ashby just giving up directing and giving us a lumpy and stupid thriller.Jeff Bridges is operhaps the only reason you should see this film as the rest of it is just so pointless after an hour you start to lose the will to live .Andy Garcia gets a part so one dimensional he looks like he will dissapear under the weight of cliche ,and everything else has been done a thousand times better somwhere else in the mid eighties most notable being To Live And Die In LA .A sad end to the directors career and one film it wise to avoid, period

Andrew K (ag) wrote: Rather mediocre, although my expectations weren't that high. It's a very simple revenge story, with a few subplots. The subplots about the prostitutes helping out and the corrupt doctor are a little interesting, but the whole train robbery/money thing wasn't.. Very little characterization for the most part.: a short conversation between Joe and the townspeople that's pro-Native American, and a story that the villain says about how he was bullied when he was young. Both are rather jammed in the story, and beyond that the dialogue mostly serves to move the simple plot along. Luckily the action is good, with some interesting cinematography and editing, although it seems to lack tension as Joe silently dispatches the bad guys with such ease most of the time. Finally, the Morricone score is easily the best part, and the music is far more epic than what's happening on screen. Overall decent, but one of the worst Spaghetti Westerns I've seen so far (out of about 13 right now).
