(gb) wrote: Not a useful movie in my belts of weaponary. Some nice location shots and atmosphere. Almost a brochure for a skiing holiday and what could be included. Girl meets boy, boy meets girl scenario as 'Kim' gets a job as a 'Chalet Girl' or servant to a well-off family staying at the chalet. Been an avid skateboarder, Kim learns to snowboard, overcomes her fears and demons, enters a competition and makes an impact. Really annoying chalet girl partner but fair do's I think she's meant to be this way.

(ag) wrote: A strong outing by Hong Sang-Soo, one of South Korea's best and most consistent contemporary filmmakers. The usual grappling with masculine anxieties and insecurities is in no short supply here, but the film also succeeds in fleshing out its female leads as characters. The results are sometimes humorous, but, more often, Hong's tale deals with the emotionally vapid encounters, discussions, and relationships that play out among the men and women who populate his film.

(us) wrote: Bill Cosby is the cleanest, most brilliant stand-up (or is it "sit-down"?) comedian. Hands down. A rarely-occurring situation of a stand-up comedy performance that was filmed and sent to theaters as a motion picture, the man (who credits himself under every crew role as "William H. Cosby, Jr.", as if that's going to make it seem like it was a two-man job) talks about his family in the most ridiculous ways possible. Actually, he starts out talking about people on drugs, and then he does a skit about dentists. THEN he makes us laugh at his family, and his comedic exaggeration (i.e. "I love it when mothers get so mad they can't remember your name: 'Come here, Roy, er, Rupert, er, Rutabaga...what is your name boy? And don't lie to me, 'cause you live here and I'll find out who you are!'", "My father established our relationship when I was seven years old. He looked at me and said, 'You know, I brought you into this world, and I can take you out. And it don't make no difference to me: I'll make another one that look just like you.'"). If you love the stand-up comedy of brilliant people such as Daniel Tosh, Eddie Murphy, Dave Chappelle, Gabriel Iglesias, and the like, but you don't want to hear all the foul and crude stuff that often offends more than making the audience laugh...rent BILL COSBY: HIMSELF.
