All for Melissa

Set in Hawaii, All For Melissa is a touching, beautiful feature film that tells the story of a young man's coming to grips with the reality of his everyday life. It shows that even though you may not get the girl of your dreams, the movie star fantasy; sometimes the girl next door, your best friend, is better than any dream girl ever could be. What sets All For Melissa apart from other films of this genre is the role the landscape, culture, and spirit of the Hawaii plays in the film. This is a love letter to Hawaii, a big aloha, and mahalo to the land and the people of this state.

Nilesh J (jp) wrote: Got lost in the positioning. Too serious for a mindless comedy. Too timid for a thriller/horror. Too uneventful for a drama and eventually just no suspense. A few laughs here and there but otherwise waste of time even in a flight with all the fast-forwards.

Alan V (de) wrote: It is all funny and schmaltzy at first, for an holocaus movie but then you get...well, let's call it a redjustment of perspective. If you liked "Life is beautyful" you will like this... And I guess that is a somewhat damning kind of praise.

Aidan H (us) wrote: Take a sixth form scriptwriter, the Hollyoaks film crew and as many day-time TV stars as you could get for free and you could still make a film ten times better than this load of wannabe socio-political wank. Shot in deep-focus (to hide the fact that it's filmed outside the Asda car park), BP comes over more like an omnibus of a TV soap opera and its sprinkling of well-known faces do nothing to lessen the effect. Its weak, condescending dramas like this that used to get all the UK film funding ten years ago. Thankfully, those days are long gone. Abysmal.

Conner R (nl) wrote: A flawless movie on all accounts, it's one of the best boxing movies to ever be made. Its longstanding reputation is well warranted and I feel like it should be praised even more. Paul Newman is both charming and determined, he plays a character that has truly had nothing to his name since he was born and been treated as though he is worthless and stupid. It's so powerful and inspiring when he turns his whole life around and gets everything he goes for. The visual style of this is downright scary, there is not one shot that doesn't look hand crafted and meticulously planned out. Robert Wise created a film that is both a great piece of entertainment and an unforgettable piece of cinema.

Christian H (es) wrote: This sci-fi thriller wasn't entirely bad...I was actually expecting far worse. Good acting from Charlize Theron though...but I understand why it bombed at the Box Office.

Ash J (ag) wrote: I tried watching this one, but fell asleep... Twice!
