All My Lenins
Young and active nationalist Aleksander Kesküla makes up his mind to use Lenin, the Bolsheviks' leader, in order to start a revolution in Russia with German money and create a new national state of Estonia in the north-east of Russia. For security reasons, five counterparts will be found and trained for Lenin; all of them are finally sent to Russia for participating in the revolution. How will the real Lenin put up with all this? How will the surrounding women and fellow fighters react? These are the questions clever Kesküla is asking - and the answers will be born even before those involved start thinking of the matter.

Every time I start watching a film she's in, I can't tear myself away. With anyone else, I would have shut this off after a few minutes, but her performance definitely left me uneasy and stuck with me.

(jp) wrote: Oh man did I love this movie! While it certainly doesn't hurt that I am big fan of Hammer and Amicus productions, this was an exceptional film even within that catalog. The atmosphere and suspense are really well done, and Cushing's acting is superb. Freddie Francis's talent as a director is also apparant in many of the mood establishing shots that he creates.
(gb) wrote: A straightforward Action Thriller staring Hollywood Legend Clint Eastwood as a key bodyguard for the President of the United States. The film is basically the face off between criminal Genius played John Malcovich & Clint's character. It's predictable but throughly enjoyable also. Like catching up with an old friend. The tension is thought out & the final climax is very interesting. No new ground is covered but Clint has such a presence on screen, it was directed by German turned Hollywood director Wolfgang Peterson who also made Neverending Story, Troy & others.
