(au) wrote: Positively the worst ending of any movie I've seen to date. Much of the extraneous B.S. scenes could have been cut to make room for more fleshing out of the ambiguous characters.
(us) wrote: the beginning of this movie isn't bad.. it's like Cube meets the smoke monster from Lost with Predator vision (which is pretty epic). Problem is this movie is way too long and the longer it goes on the lamer it gets. It had potential, but suffers from showing and telling too much. Guess I'm just a fan of ambiguity.

(kr) wrote: My Summer of Love is a story about friendship and love, family and life. It takes up a very important subject but at the same time there is so much that the movie doesn't mention that it doesn't feel as important when watching it. There were some things that were just plain difficult to put together. The age of the two girls, their chemistry, the transition from friendship to love. This could sometimes make the movie feel slightly unreal and you didn't really know what to think of it. Overall it was a slow movie that you never really got into. It was a great storyline though with some shocking consequences, but it could have been a lot better.
(ag) wrote: Sure it's a sappy in a handful of areas, but it's a ton of fun in far more. - A big, ambitious movie with some really good casting and has found a place in my list of faves.

(gb) wrote: As typical of any Steven Seagal movie, the action is great, but everything else, especially the acting, is horrible. The plot is stupid and so confusing u practically hafta stop the movie just to think about what's going on. Additionally, the ending is totally predictable and so retarded that it almost completely ruins the last 20 minutes of the film (which weren't that bad until the ending happened). Everything in this movie is non sequitur (meaning that one thing doesn't/shouldn't lead to another). The whole plot is this way--carrying out the bank robbery and/or the prison break will not, by any means, achieve Seagal's character's main goal of getting his merc comrade a proper military burial. This film is just plain dumb, though it could've been decent if they'd stuck w/ more action sequences instead of trying to develop this ridiculous plot.
(ag) wrote: A moody exploration of sex and lies as the title suggest, but it's also about repression, lust and desire. Despite its slow pace it is an indulgent script.
