Duncan N (de) wrote: How on earth did that get 93%. 2 very simple problems with this film.Extraordinarily shallow characters and boring plot. Oh and why do we have to listen to The Proclaimers.
lachlan k (fr) wrote: As someone who genuinely believes films are an art forms, this isn't so much a slap on the face as a stabbing in an inner city tenement. A couple of semi smirks instigated by a room of pre-teens does not make for a good film. Sloppy, cruel and downright pathetic I am ashamed to say I watched this film from start to finish.

Andy K (fr) wrote: This was artistically painful to watch. Kelly Hu alone adds an extra star.
Sherri K (mx) wrote: Not the least bit impressed. A chaotic mess, just a bunch of screaming. Actually, half an hour into it I was quite bored watching. I was told that this documentary was 'intense.' Umm, OK. I've GOT to be missing something here......

Private U (ag) wrote: Very understated and dry - looks fantastic too, the use of colour and lighting is quite striking.
Patrick G (fr) wrote: Rwanda in 1994. The movie is set in a Catholic technical school in Kigali which has a UN contingent protecting them. The two main characters are a middle-aged white priest and a young white school teacher. When the killing begins after the Hutu president dies in a plane crash, Tutsis seek refuge in the school... A very painful film to watch - one of those 'there but for the grace of God or luck, go I' films. Almost no one comes out looking good by the time the film ends. A BBC production. Four and a half stars..

Steve M (kr) wrote: A film far ahead of its time. It's such a great satire of the Nuclear family that was so popular with the 50's that you would expect it to be made after the 50's and not in 1956. It all the more ironic and funny that it came out the same day as "father knows best".
Matt C (kr) wrote: I've had 24 hours to digest this and I still can't get my head around this movie. It's like 50% the sort of film I'd expect my wife's church to release and 50%...well Rambo. It already feels hideously dated with the references to Kony and Childers' one-man campaign against the war in Uganda but even that isn't it's great weakness. It's just so bizarre, uneven and odd in tone that it's impossible to know how to receive the message or what that message really even is.
Jackson S (de) wrote: Rated PG? Hahahaha! This movie is incredibly violent. Within the first three minutes a seven year old boy massacres a couple in mid-coitus with a hatchet. 'That's not cranberry sauce!'
