Paul C (mx) wrote: Excellent film. Brilliant cinematography and a cleverly-penned script really give the three principle actors something to sink their teeth into. And do they ever! Totally worth the watch, with or without any grasp of Portuguese -- the subtitles are true to the literal and figurative meanings of the dialogue. If you aren't thoroughly charmed by this easy-going but rich feature, then you should probably stick to Iron Man movies and hope for another Twilight sequel.

As a side note, someone in film school remade the final scene of this for his short film, and when I called him on it, even stating that I saw the VHS of Morturary in his apartment he still denied it. Actually, that's not a very interesting aside, sorry.

Claire B (es) wrote: Apparently, production on Paris When it Sizzles was stopped a number of times on account of Holden's alcohol problems which stemmed from his being in love with Audrey and her being already married. However, Paris When it Sizzles, while barely getting any interest at the box office and remaining mostly ignored, is quite a fun movie, a total spoof, and the comedy is brilliant. Also with a couple of cameos from actors such as Tony Curtis and Noel Coward, Paris When it Sizzles is deserving of a lot more credit than it has received over the years.
