American Hot Wax
This is the story loosely based on Cleveland disc jockey Alan Freed, who introduced rock'n'roll to teenage American radio audiences in the 1950's. Freed was a source of great controversy: criticized by conservatives for corrupting youth with the "devil's music"; hated by racists for promoting African American music for white consumption; persecuted by law enforcement officials and finally brought down by the "payola" scandals.

(au) wrote: Terrible movie. While the film is beautifully shot, Snook's performance is solid and the Southern hoodoo element is interesting, everything else about it lacks good quality. The scares are dull and boring, the buildup is lacking and the pace is slow.
(es) wrote: At last, an unbiased documentary about Ali with depth. Where Will Smith's film forgot to mention the knockdown by Cooper saved by the bell and almost celebrated Ali like a god, this honest nuts and bolts film features Ali's main opponent's personal fight experiences facing the greatest boxer of all time, along with with their own history as well. Great editing and funky music allows for an immersive experience for all those interested in Ali's fights from within the ring.

Sejeste suspense ever.
(ca) wrote: Not a very good movie, but it was worth watching just to see Erika Eleniak grace the screen...Let's face it she can't act, but at least she looks good.

(gb) wrote: I doubt why couldn't it win those technical awards in Oscar. The scenery is marvellous. But Henry Fonda's performance is superb also. He tells you what people need most in their old age. His relationship with Billy is interesting and sentimental. Katharine Hepburn's performance is slightly less powerful than Fonda to me, but she still portrays an adorable decent old lady vividly. The ending is heartwarming to watch.
(ca) wrote: Terrible voice overs, bad dialogue, bad script, bad acting, schizophrenic editing, this one has it all. I predict this might win for the lowest rated movie on the meter. The electrical conduit straight from the hardware store on the outside of the "uniforms" gave me laugh for a couple of seconds and one of the explosion effects was done well...other than that it was a total waste of my time. This is the type of movie that gives scifi a bad name.
