A nameless waiter spends his days sitting around the house watching Faces of Death, slaughterhouse videos, pornography and the German equivalent of The Price Is Right. Deluded, deranged and believing mankind will endure the most horrible experiences, and will resort to any actions in order to sustain their own life, he snaps.

Almost everything about it is pointless and redundant. It has some okay sword fighting, but that is very few and nothing about this movie was really engrossing. There is a lot to appreciate about Blades of Blood, like the costuming and art design, the score wasn't bad and I liked Jeong-min Hwang's turn as the blind swordsman, but very little of that has to do with the purpose of narrative film: storytelling. And I just don't think that part works in Blades of Blood with its lack of character development.

(au) wrote: Definitely an improvement over the original, but not enough to really stand out. The characters are still uninteresting, outside of D, and the romance between a human and a vampire has next to no chemistry. The art style and voice acting is great though for a 2001 release.

(au) wrote: Most boring movie I've seen in a long time, the movie is VERY slow as you watch three hours of torture when Gandhi does nothing exciting or thrilling to keep the audience involved. There is no climax and no turning point. But he did make a movement in India for what he and others believed in, so I'll give him that.
