I imagine it may have been particularly hard for citizens of the United Kingdom to watch it, whether they were Welsh or not. I can't help but wonder how WWII era audiences viewed the film. Few films capture the feeling of losing something unique and irretrievable better. The Quiet Man is about returning to the idyllic, whereas this is about losing it forever, which is what makes it such a heartbreaking story in many respects. While The Quite Man is a more personal triumph for Ford (he was Irish vice Welsh), he certainly manages to fake it admirably here. The magic of Hollywood and John Ford. Despite the fact that is was filmed in California, the black and white photography leave one with the definite impression that it was actually filmed in Wales. The book is actually better than the film, but both are masterpieces of their own medium. Nostalgia is a powerful emotion that Ford knows how to get the most out of. 5: It doesn't get much more poignant and moving than this

Average story, below average acting and basically a cheesy outdated movie which is predictable from start to finish

Good performances all round. A bit too schmaltzy too. A more powerful movie would have concentrated more on the internment camps. Spends much time building up this event (not overly so, though) but then speeds up towards the end, skipping some details and diluting the effect. However, pacing is uneven. You share in the injustice of the situation. Quite moving. Details one of the shadier acts in US history - the internment of Japanese-Americans in camps during World War 2. Good, but could have been great

Enjoy this movie and you will be much obliged. I even saw Grim from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy doing that as well, How fascinating is that? Anyways, thanks for your advice. The twitterpated scene where friend owl told Bambi and friends all about it. But the only thing I have here is the scary music, I mean I like it but don't you think it's too scary for kids? (chuckles) So, the main reason I said this because there's a villian called Man and you never see him, all he did is shoot the animals ESPECIALLY Bambi's mom and there is a fire spreading all over the forest. The music score doesn't even sound the same like the others Disney movies maybe because they just wanted to make the music sound so different, I mean the songs are beautiful don't get me wrong. Bambi is one of those movies that'll get you in the happy mood just like in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

A good family movie. Death really steals the show. A bit messy in parts in terms of flow, but fun to watch overall

Lots of artifice, but fails to capture the potent triangle of deceit that Bunuel's "That Obscure Object of Desire" did so well (also adapted from same book). Sourced from my favorite novel, "The Woman and the Puppet", the film shows the lighter and more devilish side of Marlene Dietrich
