You believe what they did to there daughter ? It is so wrong to make a movie like that, can't believe that a person can do something like that to a christian family AND it's a true story. GOD BLESS THOSE FAMILY.

Emma B (gb) wrote: A visually stunning film with a wild ride of a narrative driven by the decisions of a volatile, brave protagonist.

Cory A (de) wrote: My god, what a terrible piece of crap. Lazy, contrived, badly acted, awfully written, and not funny.

Cynthia S (gb) wrote: This film had its moments. David killing Goliath was fun to watch, Absalom getting caught in the tree was a nice chase scene, and David seeing Bathsheba for the first time was moving (yes there is nudity, but it is tasteful). There were half dozen, or so, other scenes that were interesting to watch as stand alone moments. That being said, the film as a whole was disappointing. The plot was hurried and difficult to follow, the dialogue was mediocre, and there was insufficient character development.

Jens T (ag) wrote: An allright war movie, good but not great. It was probably good, before Clint Eastwood's Letters from Iwo Jima came and took the 1st place. But some memorable scenes is it, like when John Wayne's intoxicated character is invited by a women to her home to have a drink, and when his left alone while she is going to by some drink, he hear some noises from the next room, and discover that she have a baby. There many sentimental moments like this, even one of the guys is getting married. Besides all this the movie doesn't scream anti-war like Letters from Iwo Jima, but rattle accept it, and stay focus and don't ever step wrong or it will cost you. One Scene I admire is a scene where one of John Wayne's men calls after help after beging wounded and Wayne's is unable to send someone after him, because it will tells their position if they come after him. So they have no other choice than to stay com, while he is calling.

Chris W (br) wrote: It's fascinating watching war time dramas made during that particular war time, especially when it's from the 40s. Hitchcock once again delivers with this thrilling war story about an American journalist on assignment in Europe who stumbles upon a scoop that could really be THE story that cements his career. That particular scoop happens to be a group of spies humorously fronting as a pacifist organization.I think the structure and pacing could have been reworked, as a pivotal assassination scene happens fairly early, when I felt it should have happened at the midpoint. And, for a two hour film, it does feel a little long and disjointed. However, the film is still engaging enough that this is not a major flaw, and more of a personal nitpick. The two leads aren't the most compelling, for a Hitch film or otherwise, but they could probably be worse, and seem to be at least trying their best. Where the film really shines is in the other stuff, like the typically strong direction, the wonderful cinematography, and some impressive setpieces like the aforementioned assassination scene set amongst a sea of umbrellas, the super taut creeping around the windmill scene, and the awesome plane sequence. It's all some great stuff, you know, typical Hitch, but it's worth seeing. Really solid, pretty fun, and something you should check out, despite the flaws.
