Robbie N (ru) wrote: This movie turns horror into comedy as more interesting and complex script and writing could fall to the hands of 10 year old boys, and still be a better watch than this.
John C (de) wrote: An auspicious early effort from director Ti West. The handheld camerawork and quick-zoom shooting (normally something I despise) are actually well-utilized here, helping to build a sense of almost unbearable dread throughout. The film only falters in the last reel when that tension begins to dissipate somewhat. Apart from small quibble, the picture works perfectly on a deep, primal level.

Raj C (de) wrote: An excellent film, in that it revealed a bleakness and hopelessness that I never knew existed, essentially nihilistic. But I give it only a one, insofar as it excuses or promotes that cold world view.Terrifying, I was scared to leave the house, it was made less than a mile away from here.

It is then that they discover the myth of 'The Bread in the Bed' - a huge bed full of money. 'Nine Dead Gay Guys' is the result of the ensuing caper as the lads begin the search for the elusive bed.

Joe R (ca) wrote: I really like good post apoc stories, and for the era this movie was made in it was pretty good. The only thing I didn't like was the ending, *spoiler alert* it seemed tacked on. This movie didnt seem to even need a villian but they threw one in at the end. I literally could have written a better ending. But overall it's good for what it is. There is also some wonky science in the film but not enough that you would be bothered. The title also gives it away that its mediocre. If you like sci fi and post apoc stories, you will be glad you saw it.

Christopher H (es) wrote: Too slight and predictable to be memorable except for the fact that it broaches the topic of how a prospective couple can get confused by thinking they are or should be "just friends" - that really should have been the topic of the film, which is otherwise about an inexplicably unmotivated teenage boy failing at school.
Gabriel K (kr) wrote: A good story that unfortunately suffers from the way it's told. The acting and cinematography are top-notch, but the narrative is heavy-handed and flashbacks are awkward, making it really hard to follow.
