(it) wrote: Camp Slaughter is a low budget Swedish horror film that starts off 25 years ago as an unholy child was born in an ancient noble family. The parents had a goal and that was to create the perfect daughter, but instead she gave birth to a monster! The son is referred to as the Bunny Man because of his interest is rabbits. They keep him chained up in a hole in the woods and supply him with food to eat and rabbits to play with. Meanwhile a group of kids leave town to party at a house in the countryside. You can guess what happens next. Camp Slaughter is nothing great but fun to watch. I did like the story line but it seems to me that you really had to pay attention to the really boring beginning to understand it. For the most part the acting was horrendous. Unfortunately there is a language barrier and most of the actors didn??t speak English. So the dialogue seemed unnatural for some. I got the feeling they were poking fun at fat people because the fat guy in the movie (looks like Drew Carey) was eating in every scene. Odd that they even had an actress that looks like Mimi from the Drew Carey Show. A lot of squirting blood was used for the kill scenes but the scenes were shot in a way that all you see is blood. That was too bad because some of the kill scenes could have been really good. Some of the scenes were quite humorous but weren??t meant to be. One funny scene had two characters getting into a car to escape from the killer who was coming after them. After awhile the characters notice the killer in the rearview mirror staggering behind them. That is when they realized that he was gaining on them. So they get out of the car. Overall Camp Slaughter is a decent low budget movie that can be enjoyed if you go in with low expectations. There were plenty of extras on the DVD and most of them were worth watching. They have a behind the scenes featurette that you have to have the subtitles on if you don??t speak Swedish.
(es) wrote: It is certainly fascinating idea - Dr Jekyll turns to Jack the Ripper to haunt the Victorian London - and there is interesting subplot of Jekylls sympathetic wife to trying to find out what is wrong. Unfortunately theres too much ridiculous nudity and sex, and prostitutes are dressed like it would be 1980s and not 1880s!. Ending is genuinely sad.
