Meghan M (nl) wrote: So we watched the whole first disc before we realised that this is a MADE FOR TV movie. It is three hours long and there are convenient blanks for the commercials. After we realised this, the movie became a lot better. Albeit slow, and the acting wasn't superb, by the second disc the action picked up and we FINALLY began rooting for the characters and feeling tense for them, as is expected from a disaster movie. The concept was very interesting, and I think it was worth watching, but was ill-prepared going into it, which ruined some of my experience.

The dialogue is surprisingly snappy, and for better or worse, filled with a lot of lines that seem written to be quoted by social media types who requotes positive messages.

Ashley H (it) wrote: Tower Heist is a decent film. It is about working stiffs who seek revenge on the Wall Street swindler who stiffed them. Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy give good performances. The screenplay is a little slow in places. Brett Ratner did an alright job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of the action and humor.

Sol H (nl) wrote: Undead is okay.Bits are great. Bits are awful. The movie is shot like a TV or Straight-to-Video movie, that's my first gripe with it. Secondly the acting is atrotious. The plot isn't always too clear and gets boring at times. And most of the comedy falls flat. However, bits are very funny. And it's pretty original. All in all, it's a good cheap bit of entertainment, just don't expect much at all.

Kim B (kr) wrote: Not the best sandler movie. It wasn't particularly funny or interesting. Very predictable, fake story, and acting wasn't that great. Winona ryder was barely recognizable in this movie. A couple of chuckles here and there but Mr deeds isnt always a saint-come on.

Brett B (ru) wrote: Peter Sellers is really great in this (but then again, he's great pretty much all the time), and the storyline is agreeably unusual, but the portrayal of the counterculture feels a little too obvious, a little too on-the-nose. Time and again, the filmmakers paint the stereotypical picture of hippies, and while this does earn some serious laughs, it also feels - strangely - like the safe and uninspired play. Still worth a look, though.

Alexa B (nl) wrote: Great movie, great actors. An absolute must-see for fans of the genre, fans of Sophia Loren and fans of Anthony Perkins.

Andrew J (br) wrote: Not right to say"inspired" by H.P. Lovecraft as this movie isn't "inspired" at all.

Leon B (es) wrote: I will give it a four star because of the funny moments, but Madagascar sort of takes things out of Shrek's book. For instinct, they have Chris Rock doing the voice of the Zebra, Marty and in Shrek they had Eddie Murphy doing the voice of Donkey.

Sarah C (jp) wrote: I'd never heard of this one before. It is quite interesting yet slow moving. It was a little vague and not muh really happend...Julianne Moore does well but the character is so depressing.

"The Diary of a Teenage Girl" is a bold, gutsy and unconventional coming-of-age movie. It's about a 15-year-old girl who wants to explore her sexuality by starting a relationship with her mother's boyfriend. Sure, you may find this premise vulgar and disgusting but the movie doesn't treat her like trash, she loves her sexuality and the movie doesn't try to exploit it. Newcomer Bel Powley who is actually 25 years old is really convincing as a teenager who becomes sexually active.Set in San Francisco in the mid-1970s, Minnie Goetze (Powley) is an aspiring cartoonist who begins stirring about her sexuality. She desperately wants to lose her virginity and she fears she may not be the most attractive person in her school. Looking for acceptance and purpose, Minnie develops an attraction for her mother's boyfriend, Monroe Rutherford (Alexander Skarsgard). She shares details of her sexual journeys with her friend Kimmie (Madeleine Waters) and she even records them on her tape recorder.Minnie and Monroe keep their relationship a secret as long as possible from her mother, Charlotte (Kristen Wiig) who is a bohemian.Faithfully adapted from Phoebe Gloeckner's graphic novel, writer and director Marielle Heller has made a genuinely arresting coming-of-age drama. Filled with subtlety and dark laughs, "The Diary of a Teenage Girl" is a terrific filmmaking debut from Heller. With the exception of Powley, Kristen Wiig gives one of her best performances as Minnie's mother and Alexander Skarsgard is captivating as a man who gets entrapped in a relationship with a teenage girl who is 20 years younger than him.It maybe strange and uncomfortable for some viewers and some people are probably going to hate it but "The Diary of a Teenage Girl" is a smart and brave movie that deserves to be seen.
