(it) wrote: refreshingly different and fast paced. my favorites were - rice plate with shabana azmi and naseer, matrimony with arbaaz and mandira and the one with amrita singh. most others are OK and some are forgettable. all in all, a good time pass movie

(ca) wrote: According to IMDB, the character Burke is a ghost come back to get revenge for his wrongful execution. I couldn't really tell that from the story, though he did look like the guy. The prison was super creepy, and it inmates were so forgivable that you were on the side of the state agent who wanted to rehibilitate them. The very likable Lane Smith played the warden who became less likable with every action. There are some terrorific death scenes... the best involving pipes and air tubing. The plot points happening during some of the action occasionally left me with the "oh no! I missed something important by being distracted by bright lights!" kind of feeling.

Carter is hilarious with a very witty and outspoken attitude that's just great. Chan is also really cool with all his martial art stunts throughout the movie. The only thing though is that there was an overabundance of cuss words throughout the movie. Other than that, its an overall fun movie and rightly deserves its title.

(mx) wrote: Always the anime wins (depends the movie/remake/continue they do after it) over an OVA or film; A reason to love the 2D over 3D always (in my case). I don't imagine One Piece, R.O.D., Naruto, Sailor Moon or even Dragon Ball on 3D (only in video games but not in movies). Somehow the magic get's ruined on 3D (for me). Is like when they tried to do Death Note in live action...don't do 3D's unless they work. This one is great (even on story-telling/visuals) but doesn't work for me (call me nostalgic or whatever). I do recommend the anime, but not this movie. Enjoy. - June 9, 2015 review.
