Shantel D (br) wrote: Meh. Story is barely there, and they mostly brought in women to play parts that drag queens or transexuals should have been cast for. It had a moment or two, but for a fairly recognizable cast, it was poop.

Of course, there are some leads that couldn't be explored, because of their numbers actually ^^, but the script develops many things, while (and that's its strength) focusing splendidly on a very thrilling plot. Also, this kind of story really makes you fantasize... Maybe a futur true cult movie ?

Dave J (kr) wrote: Tuesday, July 16, 2013 (2007) Vexille JAPAN ANIMATION / COMPUTER ANIMATION SCIENCE-FICTION Confusing and complicated as heck but still somewhat captivating which contains a little bit of every space movie and animation all rolled up into one. The time is the future and Japan has become much more advanced in terms of technology in general and way ahead of other countries. So they chose to cut themselves away from the rest of the world creating some immoral conflicts and illegal technology methods. If I say anymore then it's going to create even more confusion within the plot and themes. But upon watching this this film has many science fiction movie influences from "Blade Runner", "Star Wars", "Ghost In The Shell", "Akira", "Dune" and Nauseca and perhaps many more. "Vexille" may bore the living heck of many children but to others who're fascinated in technology advancements and regulations possibly could get something from watching this. 2.5 out of 4 stars

The films all over the place and very confusing, not in a clever way have no idea what your watching is real or part of the movie inside the movie or part of a flashback? just very badly edited. though im guessing thats the point to try and make out its a clever film? it really isnt. The kills arn't really interesting either. 5 minute start for george clooneys career as he's the 1st to be bumped of with his hasselhoff haircut!

Ashley C (ag) wrote: Perhaps the least fun Ed Wood flick I've seen (with the possible exception of Orgy of the Dead, which managed to give us over an hour of striptease performances and make the experience seem like watching paint dry). Apart from the offensive blackface minstrel show shoehorned in between heist scenes (as you do) and an out-of-left-field bit of overt homoeroticism with a shirtless Steve Reeves (I had to give an extra star for the sheer whiplash resulting from these two bits), this was little more than a dully-written noir with only the rotten acting and the occasional Woodian turn of phrase giving any real hints as to its origins. DP William C. Thompson actually managed to get one really good looking deep focus shot inside a theater. I'm still not entirely sure whether the omnipresent guitar score was hypnotic or maddening.

Markus M (ru) wrote: Despite a short running time of only 62 minutes, the film ends up focusing on everything but what is actually interesting about it which is the actual giant leeches, leaving the film's title to be more interesting than the actual movie.

Dave J (br) wrote: Thursday, May 31, 2012 (1957) The Tall Stranger WESTERN Veteran western actor Joel McCrea stars as Bannon who's coming back home after the civil war, and was for no apparent reason shot in the back before being left for dead, he was then picked up and saved by a travelling wagon train seeking for a place to settle down and was originally intending to head for California lead by a conniving Mort Harper(George N. Neise) who has different intentions other than the majority of the travellers and after someone else's cattle around the area. Viginia Mayo of "The Asphalt Jungle" also stars as the love interest. Clear 'black and white' western and less cheerful as the other Westerns McCrea had ever done with some inconistencies. Great locales as well as the photography but done better before and not enough. 2 out of 4
