Tim M (jp) wrote: This is a must-see for yokai fans, there are some I'd never seen before. Adapted from a manga that began in the 60's, the story isn't as great as The Great Yokai War. It's also not directed by Miike, but it's a fun look into the world of Japanese monsters. Basically a family drama populated with ridiculous spirits that provide comic relief in spades.
Brendan N (kr) wrote: I thought this would be a hidden gem considering the talent involved but sadly its character focus and complexity aren't up to scratch. The film feels like a modern noir which keeps you invested but sadly the end result is all over the place.Stephen dorff has always been an interesting actor but he's choice of roles have always been inconsistent. This film doesn't allow him to flex any real acting muscle which is a shame because he is surrounded by some solid actors. James woods steals every scene he is in and gives the film some strength. Miller has grown as a director but he's film lack script development. The stories have twists but you can't care if the script lacks any direction for its characters. The film is intriguing but to many flaws to keep it alive. Good for a night in but you may find it hard to keep interested in its simplistic plot. To many support players are ignored
Liam D (ru) wrote: War Photographer is a visually stunning and facinating account of James Nachtwey's profession as a photo-journalist who specialises in war photography. The documentary follows Nachtwey's journey to war torn countries in search of photographs to sell to magazines. These shots are more of the aftermath of battles rather than shots of the battle themselves. War Photographer shows the human side of war and the devastation caused to peoples lives because of it. I feel War Photographer focuses too much on Nachtway's over inflated ego and his assent up the media ladder. In the scene where he follows the Indonesian family around Jakarta taking pictures of them he doesn't offer any assistance, which I thought was wrong as he, no doubt, earned tens of thousands of dollars when the shots were published in Time Magazine. War Photographer is a good visual account of war photography that focuses too much on one man and doesn't fully see the bigger picture.

Damien K (ca) wrote: This amazing film is more about classism than "gay" relationships. Fassbinder plays the lovable Franz Fox, a very unloved, poor, and naive winner of the lottery. But instead of money making his life better, he becomes instant prey to a snobby gay man who uses Fox to save his father's business. I have no idea where "Fist-Fight of Freedom" came from, but it seems to be the opposite of what this story is about. How about: "Never Fall In Love With Bourgeois Scum"?

Eva V (de) wrote: This movie propose a futuristic challenge. Genetics is a controversial issue at this time and the main theme of this movie. In the movie you can clearly norist that racism will never disappear it will only evolves. Director makes a good work showing the effort people make to get over the labels that society has imposed . In this case the person that fights against society beliefs is Vincent how reached his goal thanks to his perseverance. The film also shows the suffering and support Jerome gives to Vincent. When Jerome suciedades the director tries to say that he had no more reason to life because he "cut off" his only passion he had that was swimmin. Jerome and Vincent are the opposite, Jerome gave up when he had it all according to society and Vincent who had nothing fought till the end of his journey.
